Article Synopsis
  • Lipophilic contrast agents, primarily paraffin oil, and iodine-based hydrophilic contrast media like PEG are the main substances used in post-mortem CT angiography, yet their effects on human tissues are not fully understood.
  • A study was conducted to compare the preservation characteristics of PEG 200 and oil on cadaveric tissues during a forensic autopsy, with samples evaluated at various intervals.
  • Results indicated that samples in PEG quickly solidified and retained good diagnostic quality, while oil-preserved samples exhibited significant decomposition, highlighting the importance of selecting the appropriate contrast agent for forensic investigations.*

However, the majority of German ICU patients are not orally intubated, so they could be examined for their orientation.

In this paper, we present an approach to model the propagation of high-frequency elastic guided waves in solid or hollow cylinders. This formulation requires only discretization of the radial direction, whereas the circumferential direction is approximated via a truncated Fourier series, and the axial direction is described analytically. The model is extended to allow applying arbitrary non-symmetric loads f(r,θ) on the flat cylinder surface.

Background And Purpose: Pemphigus is caused by autoantibodies against desmoglein (Dsg) 1, Dsg3, and/or non-Dsg antigens. Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) is the most common manifestation of pemphigus, with painful erosions on mucous membranes. In most cases, blistering also occurs on the skin, leading to areas of extensive denudation.
