Venous thromboembolism (VTE), which includes pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis, carries significant morbidity and mortality risks, and is conventionally managed with anticoagulation. In recent years, notable progress has been made in the therapeutic options available for the acute treatment of VTE. The heterogeneity within pulmonary embolism, spanning a wide spectrum of risks, underscores the critical need for precise risk stratification, particularly in identifying individuals prone to right heart failure and increased mortality.

This study aims to determine whether the variation of , and genes play an important role in neonatal hyperbilirubinemia in Turkish newborn infants.
Methods: The study included 61 idiopathic hyperbilirubinemia cases, 28 prolonged jaundice cases, and 41 controls.
Background: To compare kidney blood flow and kidney function tests in infants with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), and the effects of therapeutic hypothermia (TH) during the first 7 days of life.
Methods: Fifty-nine infants with HIE were prospectively evaluated. Infants with moderate-severe HIE who required TH were classified as group 1 (n = 36), infants with mild HIE were classified as group 2 (n = 23), and healthy infants were classified as group 3 (n = 60).
