High-Throughput Microarray Approaches for Predicting the Stability of Drug-Polymer Solid Dispersions.

Amorphous solid dispersions (ASDs) offer a well-recognized strategy to improve the effective solubility and, hence, bioavailability of poorly soluble drugs. In this study, we developed an extensive library of a significant number of solid dispersion formulations using a library of chemically diverse drugs combined with a water-soluble polymer (polyvinylpyrrolidone vinyl acetate, PVPVA) at different loadings. These formulations were printed as microarrays of solid dispersion formulations, utilizing minimal material amounts (nanograms).

Does Collagen Membrane Coverage Offer any Advantage for Lateral Window Sinus Augmentation? A Histologic and Histomorphometric Analysis.

Background: We aimed to determine whether collagen membrane coverage in maxillary sinus floor elevation surgery, provides an advantage regarding bone regeneration.

Methods: This randomized clinical trial included all healthy adults presented for dental implant placement in the posterior edentulous maxilla at the Maxillofacial Surgery Department of Mashhad Dental School, Mashhad, Iran from 2021-2022. Participants were candidates for sinus floor elevation surgery.

Histomorphometric Analysis of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma, Apparently Normal Adjacent Mucosa and Epithelial Dysplasia.

Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) comprises more than 90% of oral cavity cancer and remains the leading cause of death in oral disease. Limited studies have been conducted to evaluate cellular histomorphometry changes in OSCC compared to premalignant lesions such as Dysplastic leukoplakia (DL), Nondysplastic leukoplakia (NDL), and normal epithelial. This cross-sectional descriptive-analytical study was conducted on total 72 samples, including superficial areas of squamous cell carcinoma (SCCSF), Invasive Front of Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCCIF), Apparently Normal Adjacent Oral Mucosa (SCCANM) or normal margin, Dysplastic leukoplakia (DL), Nondysplastic leukoplakia (NDL), and normal oral mucosa tissue (NOM) ( = 12 per group).

Amniotic membrane graft for persistent macular hole following retinal detachment repair in Knobloch syndrome.

We report the case of a 7-year-old girl with Knobloch syndrome who presented with retinal detachment due to a macular hole, which was treated with vitrectomy and silicone oil tamponade. The macular hole persisted, and recurrent silicone oil emulsification required exchanges, with two subsequent vitrectomies. Finally, an amniotic membrane graft was used to seal the macular hole in an effort to avoid silicone oil dependence for retinal attachment.

Correlation between clinicopathological indices and expression of cluster of differentiation 24 and cluster of differentiation 44 biomarkers in oral epithelial dysplasia and oral squamous cell carcinoma patients: A follow-up study.

Background: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is the most common oral cavity cancer and may occur following oral epithelial dysplasia (OED). Cancer stem cells (CSCs) can self-renew and multi-directionally differentiate to promote tumorigenesis with high expression of cluster of differentiation (CD) 24 and CD44 markers. CSCs play a pivotal role in tumor development, drug resistance, and relapse after treatment.
