The main objective of the research was to study the properties of the foam and foam films stabilized by solid particles. The properties of the foam films were compared with the analogous ones of the emulsion films. The experiment provided the rheological characteristics of the dispersion medium.

A 28 kDa protein was partially sequenced by mass spectrometry and Edman degradation which showed homology to serine proteases from various insects. Three full length clones were obtained from cDNA isolated from Sunn bug salivary glands using degenerate PCR based on the sequences obtained.

Emulsions were placed on a ceramic porous plate or in a centrifugal field. The capillary pressure was created by decreasing the pressure in the continuous phase of the emulsion.

The effect of high pressure gradients with the help of the membrane under which a decreased pressure is created and centrifugal forces on a decrease of the content of the dispersion medium in the emulsion and foam and increase in the capillary pressure was studied. In a centrifugal field at low angular velocity of rotation (omega=52.3 s(-1)) the equilibrium capillary pressure is established in the emulsion and foam.
