Endothelial cell dysfunction leading to increased permeability and compromised barrier function are hallmarks of neuroinflammatory and autoimmune disorders, including multiple sclerosis (MS). Therapeutic strategies that improve or protect endothelial barrier function may be beneficial in the treatment or prevention of neuroinflammatory diseases.
