All ecosystems face ecological challenges in this century. Therefore, it is becoming increasingly important to understand the ecology and degree of local adaptation of functionally important Arctic-alpine biomes by looking at the most diverse taxon of metazoans: the Arthropoda. This is the first study to utilize metabarcoding in the Alpine tundra, providing insights into the effects of micro-environmental parameters on alpha- and beta-diversity of arthropods in such unique environments.

Drivers of partially automated vehicles are blamed for crashes that they cannot reasonably avoid.

People seem to hold the human driver to be primarily responsible when their partially automated vehicle crashes, yet is this reasonable? While the driver is often required to immediately take over from the automation when it fails, placing such high expectations on the driver to remain vigilant in partially automated driving is unreasonable. Drivers show difficulties in taking over control when needed immediately, potentially resulting in dangerous situations. From a normative perspective, it would be reasonable to consider the impact of automation on the driver's ability to take over control when attributing responsibility for a crash.

Dynamics of the urinary microbiome in pregnancy and the coincidental predictive value of the microbiota for IVF/IVF-ICSI outcome.

Research Question: What is the impact of clinical pregnancy on the composition of the urinary microbiota?

Design: Eighty-five women receiving IVF, without or with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) treatment were enrolled in a prospective observational study performed in 2008. Approximately 14 weeks before the start of hormonal treatment and embryo transfer, a midstream urine sample was obtained, followed by an additional sample 16 weeks after embryo transfer. The microbial composition was determined by polymerase chain reaction of the V1-V3 regions of the 16S rRNA bacterial gene.

Haptic human-human interaction does not improve individual visuomotor adaptation.
