Since the advent of osteointegrated implantology and its precepts issued by the Swedish School, assessment of peri-implant bone loss criteria has often been debated by professionals in this field. Long-term success of dental implants is highly reliant on structural and functional osseointegration between implant and surrounding intraoral tissues. In this context, the current study aims to provide biomechanical explanations for causes of bone loss around the dental implant after osseointegration by computational analysis, using a three-dimensional finite-element (FE) method.

A three-dimensional finite element model of mandibular molar section of the bone to receive implants was constructed. Three implant-supported fixed partial dentures, with null, moderate and wide tilting, of 0°, 15° and 30° implant inclinations, respectively, were modeled.

Methods: Eighty-two patients underwent FEVAR or BEVAR for aortic aneurysm from January 2008 to December 2014. The primary end point was postoperative renal impairment on day 15 (D15).
The retina and retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) are present in the posterior segment of the eye, and the retina is dependent upon the underlying RPE for normal function. The retina is the most oxygenated tissue in the body but is isolated from the blood circulation by blood-retinal barriers. Metabolism of cellular oxygen involves heme but little is known about heme transport in the retina and RPE.

We have isolated a novel human gene, RZF, which is predominantly expressed in the photoreceptors of human retina. RZF encodes a 40-kDa protein that has three widely spaced C(2)H(2)-type zinc finger motifs.
