Background: Patients with chronic liver disease (CLD) have impaired vaccine immunogenicity and an excess risk of severe COVID-19. While variant-adapted COVID-19 mRNA vaccines are recommended for vulnerable individuals, their efficacy in patients with CLD has not been studied.
Methods: We present the first evaluation of XBB.
Background: Variant-adapted COVID-19 vaccines are recommended for patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). However, many patients rely on pre-existing immunity by original vaccines or prior infections.
Aim: To assess whether such immunity sufficiently combats the highly immune-evasive SARS-CoV-2 JN.
Recently updated COVID-19 mRNA vaccines encode the spike protein of the omicron subvariant XBB.1.5 and are recommended for patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) on immunosuppressive treatment.

Recent advances in real-time fMRI neurofeedback have successfully demonstrated the modulation of amygdala activity in healthy and psychiatric populations. In contrast to an abstract feedback representation applied in standard neurofeedback designs, we proposed a novel neurofeedback paradigm using naturalistic stimuli like human emotional faces as the feedback display where change in the facial expression intensity (from neutral to happy or from fearful to neutral) was coupled with the participant's ongoing bilateral amygdala activity.

Selected HMOs are now available for addition to infant formula, and suitable methods to control the dosing rate are needed.
Objective: To develop and validate a suitable method for the analysis of HMOs in infant formula.
