Lead (Pb), a toxic metal, causes severe health hazards to both humans and plants due to environmental pollution. Biochar addition has been efficiently utilized to enhance growth of plants as well as yield in the presence of Pb-induced stress. The present research introduces a novel use of biochar obtained from the weed Achyranthes japonica to enhance the growth of plants in Pb-contaminated soil.

Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB) is an emerging threat to healthcare settings in many countries, principally in South Asia. The current study was aimed to identify, evaluate whole-genome and characterize the prophages in genome of CRAB strain, recovered from patients of Lahore General Hospital, Lahore. More than 200 samples were collected and identified by morphological and biochemical tests.

Cross-Point Ferroelectric HfZrO Capacitors for Remanent Polarization-Driven In-Memory Computing.

Ferroelectric HfZrO (HZO) capacitors have been extensively explored for in-memory computing (IMC) applications due to their nonvolatility and back-end-of-line (BEOL) compatible process. Several IMC approaches using resistance and capacitance states in ferroelectric HZO have been proposed for vector-matrix multiplication (VMM), but previous approaches suffer from limited accuracy and reliability. In this work, we propose a promising approach centered on the remanent polarization (P) switching of binary ferroelectric HZO capacitor synapses.

Background: Hexaflumuron (HFM), a common pesticide, can disrupt the immune system and cause oxidative stress. This study investigated the potential of Physalis peruviana L. calyces extract (PP) to counteract these effects in rats.

Self-medication pattern among medical students in Middle Delta, Egypt.

Background: Self- medication leading to wastage of limited resources in developing countries, prolonged suffering, increase resistance to drugs and may result in significant medical complications such as adverse drug responses and dependence. Self-medication is extensively used by health professionals. Undergraduate medical students as being the future physicians representing a main pillar in health care system thus have special significance.
