Effect of isgin ( L.) on biochemical parameters, antioxidant activity and DNA damage in rats with obesity induced with high-calorie diet.

The present study was designed to investigate the effects of L. plant root extracts on DNA damage, biochemical and antioxidant parameters in rats with experimental obesity induced with a high-calorie diet. The study groups were divided as "normal control(NC)", "obese control(OC)", "obese + (OR1)(200 mg/kg)" and "obese + (OR2)(400 mg/kg)".

Emotional effects of hypospadias surgery on Turkish boys.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate in Turkish boys the emotional effects of hypospadias repair before and after the optimal age for repair.

Materials And Methods: Forty hypospadias patients treated in our department were included in this study. Group 1 consisted of 13 patients operated on at less than 30 months of age.

The effect of an H2-receptor antagonist on small-bowel colonization and bacterial translocation in newborn rats.

Bacterial translocation (BT) is defined as the passage of enteric bacteria from the gastrointestinal tract to extraintestinal tissues. Bacterial overgrowth is one of the main promoting factors of BT, which is thought to play an important role in the pathogenesis of sepsis and necrotizing enterocolitis. It is believed that small-bowel colonization is established by bacterial spread through the rectum.
