Acute electrical stimulation of the common peroneal nerve (cPNS) has been shown to cause an immediate reduction in systolic blood pressure (SBP) in spontaneous hypertense rats (SHR), but the effect of this treatment in sub-chronic ambulatory SBP is unknown. An 80-year-old woman presented to our department with visible haematuria and stage II acute kidney injury (AKI). She had stage IIB cervical cancer, for which she received chemotherapy and external beam radiotherapy in 2003. Injuries and lesions to the meniscal cartilage of the knee joint are common. As a result of its limited regenerative capacity, early degenerative changes to the articular surface frequently occur, resulting in pain and poor function. Currently available surgical interventions include repair of tears, and partial and total meniscectomy but the results are inconsistent and often poor.

Preferential cytotoxic effect of Newcastle disease virus on lymphoma cells.

Susceptibility of lymphoma cells (Daudi, HD-Mar) to Newcastle disease virus toxicity was found to be higher than that of lymphoblastoid cells (Milstein) and of resting peripheral blood lymphocyte (PBL). Phytohemagglutinin- and/or pokeweed-mitogen-activated PBL however, exhibited, elevated sensitivity, similar to that of lymphoma cells.
