[Health schools for patients with chronic cardiac insufficiency (innovative technologies)].

Modern programs for the management of patients with chronic cardiac insufficiency (CCI) envisage systemic preventive measures aimed to extend their information support, stimulate compliance, optimize feedback, modify lifestyle, and facilitate social adaptation. Traditional health schools for CCI patients as a form of secondary prophylaxis helps to achieve the above goals even though efficiency of this work needs to be further improved. Results of regular medical examination of 417 patients with CCI (294 women and 123 men) visiting local outpatient facilities in 2008 were analysed.

Waveguide propagation of intense electromagnetic radiation in slightly inhomogeneous nonlinear media.

The propagation of self-localizing beams of electromagnetic waves in the form of nonlinear waveguides in a slightly inhomogeneous medium is studied analytically and numerically. The trajectories of the axial ray are studied as a function of its direction and the field strength at the initial point on the basis of a nonlinear scalar Helmholtz equation. Analytic expressions are derived.

[Radiation dosage to staff during administration of pharmaceutical preparations labeled with 99m Tc].

The paper is concerned with the characteristics of irradiation doses the staff-members are exposed to at one of the most important stages of a radiodiagnostic study: administration of 99mTc-labeled radiopharmaceutical drugs. Proceeding from an analysis of technological peculiarities of this stage the authors propose recommendations to decrease dose exposures of the hands and body of the staff-members engaged in the administration of radiopharmaceutical drugs.
