Recently acquired olfactory dysfunction (OD) has emerged as one of hallmark manifestations of the novel Corona virus disease (COVID-19), but the evolution of its spontaneous recovery has remained inconclusive, with reports of persistence of OD beyond six months of onset. We undertook this systematic review and meta-analysis with a view to generating a pooled recovery rate of COVID-19 associated olfactory dysfunctions and attempt to examine the predictors of olfactory recovery. Variations of the Nasal Septum in Adult Nigerians: Computed Tomography Study.

 The morphological variants of the nasal septum have been implicated in sinus pathology and pose a challenge during endoscopic surgeries.  The present study aimed at evaluating the prevalence of nasal septum variants in adult Nigerians.  The present study was performed at the Radiology Department of Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Nigeria, following ethical approval.

Is 'Group and Save' Blood Request Routinely Required for Nasopharyngeal Biopsy?

To establish our current practice of 'group and save' blood for nasopharyngeal tumour biopsy (NB), and to determine the rate of blood transfusions among patients who underwent NB under general anaesthesia. A retrospective chart review of all patients who underwent biopsy of NB in our tertiary institution between January 2006 and December 2015 was undertaken. Those with Juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma were excluded.

Treatment outcomes of auricular hematoma using corrugated rubber drains: a pilot study.

Background: Hematoma of the auricle which is a collection of blood beneath the perichondrial layer of the pinna usually poses a challenge to the otolaryngologist due to its high rate of recurrence after treatment and lack of appropriate material for use as stitch dressing especially, in the developing world. This is a Pilot study in which corrugated rubber drain was used as a stitch dressing after routine incision and drainage (I and D) in patients who presented with auricular hematoma.

Aim: To determine the effectiveness of corrugated rubber drain in the treatment of auricular hematoma.

Radiological features of juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma.

Juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma is a rare nasopharyngeal tumour that presents with recurrent epistaxis. A case report and the role of radiologic imaging modalities in diagnosing this entity is presented.
