Assessing the use of unstructured electronic health record data to identify exposure to firearm violence.

Objectives: Research on firearm violence is largely limited to people who experienced acute bodily trauma and death which is readily gathered from Inpatient and Emergency Department settings and mortality data. Exposures to firearm violence, such as witnessing firearm violence or losing a loved one to firearm violence, are not routinely collected in health care. As a result, the true public health burden of firearm violence is underestimated.

A qualitative study exploring experiences of racial minority stress in pharmacy education and practice.

Background: Despite 49.1% of registered pharmacists in the UK being from a Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) background, senior management roles within pharmacy are dominated by white males. People from BAME communities may experience minority stress which contributes to a professional attainment gap compared with non-BAME colleagues.

Modelled impact of virtual fractional flow reserve in patients undergoing coronary angiography (VIRTU-4).

Background: The practical application of 'virtual' (computed) fractional flow reserve (vFFR) based on invasive coronary angiogram (ICA) images is unknown. The objective of this cohort study was to investigate the potential of vFFR to guide the management of unselected patients undergoing ICA. The hypothesis was that it changes management in >10% of cases.

Objectives: Social prescribing is an approach that enables the referral of patients to non-clinical support and places a focus on holistic care. This study explored views of community pharmacists regarding social prescribing in pharmacies.

Objectives: There is a lack of high-quality data informing the optimal antithrombotic drug strategy following bioprosthetic heart valve replacement or valve repair. Disparity in recommendations from international guidelines reflects this. This study aimed to document current patterns of antithrombotic prescribing after heart valve surgery in the UK.
