Coffee, a globally consumed beverage, has raised concerns in Islamic jurisprudence due to the possible presence of alcohol compounds. This research aims to utilise the sensitivity and reliability of H NMR spectroscopy in the quantification of alcohol compounds such as ethanol, furfuryl alcohol, and 5-(hydroxymethyl) furfural (HMF) in commercial instant coffee. Analysis of seven products was performed using advanced H Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy together with Statistical Total Correlation Spectroscopy (STOCSY) and Resolution-Enhanced (RED)-STORM.

Greenhouse gases can cause acid rain, which in turn degrades soil chemical properties. This research was conducted to determine the effects of simulated acid rain (SAR) on the chemical properties of Nyalau series (Typic paleudults). A 45-day laboratory leaching and incubation study (control conditions) was conducted following standard procedures include preparing simulated acid rain with specific pH levels, followed by experimental design/plan and systematically analyzing both soil and leachate for chemical changes over the 45-day period.

Article Synopsis
  • - The Malaysian Allied Health Profession Act (Act 774) regulates allied health practitioners, but specific criteria are needed to define the "profession of allied health" (PAH) within Malaysia.
  • - The research used qualitative methods, including document review and focus group discussions with 25 stakeholders, to identify key criteria for defining PAH, resulting in sixteen emergent codes related to healthcare practice.
  • - Six primary criteria were identified as critical for defining PAH in Malaysia, particularly focusing on risk of harm to patients and necessary competencies, indicating that a combination of these criteria is necessary for a comprehensive understanding of PAH.
