The over consumption of high fat, sugar, and salt foods increases population risk of overweight, obesity and diet-related noncommunicable diseases. The food environment mediates consumer food choices and thus plays an important role in diet quality and related health outcomes. The built food environment, where most people in high income countries access their food, has been found to be obesogenic.

Determinants of medication adherence in patients with acute coronary syndrome: a secondary analysis of a randomised clinical trial.

Background: Coronary heart disease (CHD) remains a leading cause of mortality and disability worldwide. Approximately half of the patients who have had a prior hospital admission for CHD will have a recurrent coronary event, with the majority of these occurring within 12 months. Despite well-established evidence-based therapies, medication non-adherence is highly prevalent and reasons for medication non-adherence are poorly understood.

Background: Clozapine has demonstrated superiority in improving both positive and negative symptoms of treatment-resistant schizophrenia; however, there are associated treatment-limiting side effects, including myocarditis, cardiomyopathy and agranulocytosis.

Aim: This retrospective cohort study describes the prevalence of myocarditis, left ventricular (LV) dysfunction, cardiovascular risk factors and outcomes in a cohort of patients maintained on clozapine therapy.

Methods: Data were retrospectively collated from patients who had a diagnosis of schizophrenia, had been managed with clozapine at any stage during their care and undergone at least one echocardiogram.

Appendiceal mucinous neoplasms (AMNs) are rare tumors that often present with non-specific symptoms, posing diagnostic challenges. This report aims to emphasize the importance of considering AMNs in the differential diagnosis of atypical pelvic symptoms, especially when initial evaluations suggest gynecological issues. A 56-year-old female with a past medical history of hyperlipidemia and a total vaginal hysterectomy performed over 20 years prior for abnormal uterine bleeding due to fibroids presented to her gynecologist with a three-week history of vaginal discharge and pelvic pain.
