The aim of this study was to systematically revise the state of art of the accuracy of digital and conventional impressions in clinical full-arch scenarios. Electronic and manual searches were conducted up to December 2024. Only trials comparing the accuracy of digital versus conventional impressions were selected by two independent reviewers.

The development and calibration of a measurement system designed for assessing the performance of the avalanche photodiodes (APDs) used in the Compton scattering polarimeter of the CUSP project is discussed in this work. The designed system is able to characterize the APD gain GAPD and energy resolution across a wide range of temperatures (from -20 °C to +60 °C) and bias voltages Vbias (from 260 V to 410 V). The primary goal was to experimentally determine the GAPD dependence on the and Vbias in order to establish a strategy for stabilizing GAPD by compensating for fluctuations, acting on Vbias.

Article Synopsis
  • Adult-onset Still's disease (AOSD) is a rare inflammatory condition that includes symptoms like daily fevers, joint pain, skin rashes, and spleen enlargement, often requiring tests to rule out blood cancers.
  • A case study of a 38-year-old man revealed symptoms such as fatigue, high fever, night sweats, and skin rashes, leading to extensive testing, including CT and PET/CT scans that showed enlarged lymph nodes and high metabolic activity in his spleen and bone marrow.
  • Ultimately, biopsies of the lymph node and bone marrow showed signs of hyperreactivity but no cancer, confirming AOSD as a diagnosis of exclusion, particularly when high ferritin levels and systemic symptoms are present

Inflammation is a key process in the pathophysiology of various diseases, with macrophages playing a central role in the inflammatory response. This study investigates the anti-inflammatory potential of a newly synthesized analog of oleuropein (OP), the major olive tree ( metabolite. This derivative of OP, named Ole-Oxy, was designed by introducing an oxygen atom between the aromatic ring and the aliphatic chain of OP, to enhance interaction with proteins and improve bioactivity.

Intestinal homeostasis is maintained through the combined functions of epithelial and immune cells that collaborate to preserve the integrity of the intestinal barrier. However, the mechanisms by which immune cell populations regulate intestinal epithelial cell (IEC) homeostasis remain unclear. Here, we use a multi-omics approach to study the immune-epithelial crosstalk and identify CD1d-restricted natural killer T (NKT) cells as key regulators of IEC biology.
