The NHS England Jewish BRCA Testing Programme: overview after first year of implementation (2023-2024).

Background: The NHS Jewish BRCA Testing Programme is offering germline and genetic testing to people with ≥1 Jewish grandparent. Who have an increased likelihood of having an Ashkenazi Jewish (AJ) founder germline pathogenic variant (gPV) compared with the general population.Testing is offered via a self-referral, home-based saliva sampling pathway, supported by a genetic counsellor telephone helpline.

Differences in the Relationship Between Educational Attainment and Health Status Across Racial and Ethnic Groups in a Multi-ethnic United States Older Adult Population: A Cross-Sectional Electronic Health Record-Based Study.

Introduction We aimed to describe the relationship of educational attainment with the prevalence of six health outcomes (ever and current smoking, diabetes, hypertension, coronary artery disease, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) in an older adult population, including whether education-health relationships differed by health outcome, by racial and ethnic (racial/ethnic) group, and by racial/ethnic group within the same level of education. Methods This cross-sectional study used 2015-2016 electronic health record data for 149,417 non-Hispanic White (White), 15,398 African-American or other Black (Black), 15,319 Hispanic or Latino (Latino), 10,133 Filipino, and 8810 Chinese Northern California health plan members aged 65-79 years whose preferred language was English. For each racial/ethnic group, sex-specific age-standardized prevalence of the six health outcomes was estimated for four levels of education (non-high school graduate, high school graduate, some college, college graduate).

Preclinical and Clinical-Scale Magnetic Particle Imaging of Natural Killer Cells: in vitro and ex vivo Demonstration of Cellular Sensitivity, Resolution, and Quantification.

Purpose: Clinical adoption of NK cell immunotherapy is underway for medulloblastoma and osteosarcoma, however there is currently little feedback on cell fate after administration. We propose magnetic particle imaging (MPI) may have applications for the quantitative detection of NK cells.

Procedures: Human-derived NK-92 cells were labeled by co-incubation with iron oxide nanoparticles (VivoTrax™) for 24 h then excess nanoparticles were washed with centrifugation.

Irish Prostate Cancer Outcomes Research (IPCOR) registry: cohort profile.

Purpose: To describe the Irish Prostate Cancer Outcomes Research (IPCOR) registry. The cohort was collected to inform and improve the prostate cancer journey of men in Ireland.

Participants: Established in 2015, IPCOR was a unique large-scale prospective cohort study registering men with prostate cancer in Ireland.

The Addition of Navigation Technology to the Femur-First Approach in Anterior Total Hip Arthroplasty Improves Leg Length Restoration.

Background: The addition of computer navigation (CN) technology in direct anterior approach (DAA) total hip arthroplasty (THA) has the potential to improve restoration of hip offset and leg length. In this investigation, we examine the effect of one fluoroscopic-based CN system on biomechanical parameters in DAA THA with femur-first (FF) workflow.

Methods: A retrospective review was performed on 235 primary DAA FF THA cases, with 100 CN cases and 135 in the conventional fluoroscopic overlay (FO) group.
