Background And Objective: Binge eating disorder (BED) is the most frequent eating disorder, often confused with obesity, with which it shares several characteristics. Early identification could enable targeted therapeutic interventions. Patients with colorectal liver metastasis (CLM) present with heterogenous clinical outcomes and improved classification is needed to ameliorate the therapeutic output. Macrophages (Mϕ) hold promise as prognostic classifiers and therapeutic targets. Here, stemming from a single-cell analysis of mononuclear phagocytes infiltrating human CLM, we identified two Mϕ markers associated with distinct populations with opposite clinical relevance.

Background: Left ventricular outflow tract pseudoaneurysm is a rare but potentially fatal complication of aortic valve replacement, infective endocarditis (IE), and suture dehiscence. Left ventricular-aortic discontinuity is a severe and uncommon manifestation of IE. For patients who have a long-standing history of endocarditis, periannular lesions in the aortic valve may rupture, leading to the rare occurrence of complete, or total, left ventricular-aortic discontinuity.
