Rabies remains a global health threat despite being preventable with post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP). This study assessed one-year humoral and T cell immunity in PEP recipients of the Insitut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) regimen, recommended by WHO. We analyzed rabies virus (RABV) neutralizing antibodies (nAbs) and T cell responses at baseline, 7 and 14 days, 6 and 12 months after PEP.

Liquid biopsy is a non-invasive diagnostic method that can reduce the risk of complications and offers exceptional benefits in the dynamic monitoring and acquisition of heterogeneous cell population information. Optical nanomaterials with excellent light absorption, luminescence, and photoelectrochemical properties have accelerated the development of liquid biopsy technologies. Owing to the unique size effect of optical nanomaterials, their improved optical properties enable them to exhibit good sensitivity and specificity for mitigating signal interference from various molecules in body fluids.

All World Health Organization (WHO) pre-qualified rabies vaccines for humans are inactivated tissue culture rabies virus formulations produced for intramuscular (IM) administration. Due to costs and vaccine shortage, dose-saving intradermal (ID) administration of rabies post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) is encouraged by WHO. This study compared the immunogenicity of the ID 2-site, 3-visit Institut Pasteur Cambodge (IPC) PEP regimen to the IM 1-site, 4-visit 4-dose Essen regimen using Verorab vaccine (Sanofi).

Background/objectives: This study aimed to examine the food security status of urban poor adolescents and its association with diet quality.

Subjects/methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 188 adolescents aged 13-18 yrs living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Household food insecurity and dietary intake data were collected using the Radimer/Cornell hunger and food insecurity instrument and 2-day 24-h dietary recalls, respectively.

The duration of humoral and cellular immune memory following SARS-CoV-2 infection in populations in least developed countries remains understudied but is key to overcome the current SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Sixty-four Cambodian individuals with laboratory-confirmed infection with asymptomatic or mild/moderate clinical presentation were evaluated for Spike (S)-binding and neutralizing antibodies and antibody effector functions during acute phase of infection and at 6-9 months follow-up. Antigen-specific B cells, CD4 and CD8 T cells were characterized, and T cells were interrogated for functionality at late convalescence.
