Objective: To evaluate the impact of absolute cardiovascular risk counselling on quality-of-life indices within a chest pain clinic.
Data Sources And Study Setting: Primary data was collected at the Royal Hobart Hospital, Australia, between 2014 and 2020.
Study Design: Patients attending an Australian chest pain clinic were randomised into a prospective, open-label, blinded-endpoint study over a minimum 12-months follow-up.
Introduction: We investigated whether the cerebellum develops neuropathology that correlates with well-accepted Alzheimer's disease (AD) neuropathological markers and cognitive status.
Methods: We studied cerebellar cytoarchitecture in a cohort (N = 30) of brain donors. In a larger cohort (N = 605), we queried whether the weight of the contents of the posterior fossa (PF), which contains primarily cerebellum, correlated with dementia status.
Background: Patient education is needed to perform home blood pressure measurement (HBPM) according to blood pressure (BP) guidelines. It is not known how BP is measured at home and what education is provided, which was the aim of the study.
Methods: Mixed-methods study among Australian adults who perform HBPM (June to December 2023).

Objective: As gender parity in medicine improves, neurosurgery lags behind. In pediatric neurosurgery, considered the most "female-friendly" subspecialty, determining the extent to which gender disparity has evolved over time, and how it compares to other subspecialties, can serve as an important benchmark for neurosurgery altogether. This study analyzed gender parity across different neurosurgical and subspecialty training stages to understand how female representation varies with training level and leadership positions.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFWind over the ocean creates breaking waves that generate air-filled bubbles, which radiate underwater sound. This wind-generated sound is a significant component of the ocean soundscape, and models are essential for understanding and predicting its impact. Models for predicting sound pressure level (SPL) from wind have been studied for many years.
