Background: Diabetes is a growing concern worldwide, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Type 2 diabetes mellitus constitutes a significant proportion of cases and is associated with debilitating microvascular complications. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is steadily increasing among the LMICs where many barriers to health care exist.

Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) is increasing in prevalence on a global scale. Current treatment options are limited to improving venous return, ablation of refluxing veins, and reducing outflow obstruction. A new bioprosthetic device, the VenoValve, may bridge the gap of treatment for patients with chronic venous insufficiency who have failed prior treatment.

The aim of this study was to estimate the association between glucose metabolism status (GMS) and measurements of glycemic control with HRpQCT parameters of bone microarchitecture and strength. Participants of the Maastricht study who underwent an HRpQCT scan at the distal radius and tibia were included.

Methods: We performed a cohort study with data from the Clinical Practice Research Datalink Aurum database with linkage to hospital data. We included people with type 2 diabetes starting treatment with metformin.
Objectives: Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) is the preferred treatment for severe blunt thoracic aortic injuries (BTAI). Successful outcomes rely on accurate endograft sizing, but initial imaging may underestimate aortic diameters. This study examines the impact of intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) on endograft sizing and clinical outcomes in BTAI patients.
