Maize is one of the most important crops cultivated worldwide, whose production can be affected by the presence of several pathogens. Fusarium verticillioides and Fusarium graminearum are the most predominant pathogens affecting maize ears. However, few studies have been focused on studying the interaction between both pathogens in field conditions.

Maize is one of the most important crops worldwide, being affected by several fungal species under field conditions. The study of plant-pathogen interaction plays a key role because fungal diseases are responsible for reducing grain yield and quality by increasing mycotoxin production. Thus, the present work aimed to evaluate the interaction of F.

This paper describes the fabrication of 2D and 3D microfluidic paper-based analytical devices (μPADs) for monitoring glucose, total protein, and nitrite in blood serum and artificial urine. A new method of cutting and sealing filter paper to construct μPADs was demonstrated. Using an inexpensive home cutter printer soft cellulose-based filter paper was easily and precisely cut to produce pattern hydrophilic microchannels.

The quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) technique has been applied for monitoring the biorecognition of ArtinM lectins at low horseradish peroxidase glycoprotein (HRP) concentrations, using a simple kinetic model based on Langmuir isotherm in previous work.18 The latter approach was consistent with the data at dilute conditions but it fails to explain the small differences existing in the jArtinM and rArtinM due to ligand binding concentration limit. Here we extend this analysis to differentiate sugar-binding event of recombinant (rArtinM) and native (jArtinM) ArtinM lectins beyond dilute conditions.

In this work we described for the first time the construction of a 25 μL electrochemical cell from low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) material and carbon screen-printed electrode applicable in portable devices. Firstly, a carbon screen-printed electrode was prepared and characterized by cyclic voltammetry and scanning electron microscopy. Afterwards carbon polymeric film and metal pastes were dropped into the LTCC cell cavities in order to determine the device electrodes, and this arrangement was also electrochemically characterized.
