Article Synopsis
  • The NHL29 trial evaluated the effectiveness of combining ibrutinib with R-mini-CHOP chemotherapy in patients over 75 with newly diagnosed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).
  • Results showed a 2-year overall survival rate of 68% and a progression-free survival rate of 60%, with an overall response rate of 76%.
  • Despite some serious adverse events, including infections and diarrhea, improvements in health-related quality of life were noted among responders, indicating the treatment's viability for elderly patients.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the use of non-invasive stress imaging (NISI) in patients with low HEART risk scores who are discharged from the emergency department and may face diagnostic challenges.
  • A total of 1,384 patients were included in the study, and the findings showed that NISI effectively predicted both primary cardiac events (like cardiac death and non-fatal heart attacks) and secondary cardiovascular-related issues, over a follow-up period of about 634 days.
  • Specific risk factors such as diabetes, prior coronary artery disease, and abnormal NISI results were significant predictors of adverse cardiac events in this low-risk group.

In this paper, we report the discovery of some novel dynamical scenarios for quasi-periodic shrimp-shaped structures embedded within chaotic phases in bi-parameter space of a discrete predator-prey system. By constructing high-resolution, two-dimensional stability diagrams based on Lyapunov exponents, we observe the abundance of both periodic and quasi-periodic shrimp-shaped organized domains in a certain parameter space of the system. A comprehensive comparative analysis is conducted to elucidate the similarities and differences between these two types of shrimps.

Dermatomyositis (DM) and polymyositis are idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIMs), most associated with solid organ malignancies, and less commonly hematological malignancies. We discuss a case of DM associated with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, followed by a review of literature on the pathogenesis, clinical course, treatment, and prognosis. Various challenges with the diagnosis and management of underlying lymphoproliferative disorders (LPDs) in patients with IIM are discussed.

Ring-contracted porphyrin analogues, such as subporphyrins and calix[3]pyrroles, have recently attracted considerable attention not only as challenging synthetic targets but also as functional macrocyclic compounds. Although canonical porphyrins and calix[4]pyrrole are selectively generated acid-catalyzed condensation reactions of pyrrole monomers, their tripyrrolic analogues are always missing under similar conditions. Recent progress in synthesis has shown that strain-controlled approaches using boron(iii)-templating, core-modification, or ring tightening provide access to various contracted porphyrins.
