A wide range of pollutants, including heavy metals, endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), residual pesticides, and pharmaceuticals, are present in various water systems, many of which strongly drive the proliferation and dissemination of antimicrobial resistance genes (ARGs), heightening the antimicrobial resistance (AMR) crisis and creating a critical challenge for environmental and health management worldwide. This study addresses the impact of anthropogenic pollutants on AMR through an extensive analysis of ARGs and mobile genetic elements (MGEs) in urban wastewater, source water, and drinking water supplies in India. Results indicated that bla and bla were the dominant ARGs across all water systems, underscoring the prevalence and dominance of resistance against β-lactam antibiotics.

Nonheme iron enzymes utilize = 2 iron(IV)-oxo intermediates as oxidants in biological oxygenations. In contrast, corresponding synthetic nonheme Fe═O complexes characterized to date favor the = 1 ground state that generally shows much poorer oxidative reactivity than their = 2 counterparts. However, one intriguing exception found by Nam a decade ago is the = 1 [Fe(O)(MeNTB)] complex (MeNTB = [tris((-methyl-benzimidazol-2-yl)methyl)amine], ) with a hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) reactivity that is 70% that of the = 2 [Fe(O)(TQA)] complex (TQA = tris(2-quinolylmethyl)amine, ).

Background: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic contributed enormously to the psychosocial distress of Indian healthcare providers. The mental well-being of the healthcare community remains an underappreciated priority in India. The primary objective was to observe the results of an online brief mindfulness-based intervention on stress, anxiety, and depression, and the secondary objective was to examine its effects on mindfulness characteristics and World health Organization (WHO) quality of life among Indian healthcare providers during pandemic times.

Tailored light-matter interactions in the strong coupling regime enable the manipulation and control of quantum systems with up to unit efficiency, with applications ranging from quantum information to photochemistry. Although strong light-matter interactions are readily induced at the valence electron level using long-wavelength radiation, comparable phenomena have been only recently observed with short wavelengths, accessing highly excited multi-electron and inner-shell electron states. However, the quantum control of strong-field processes at short wavelengths has not been possible, so far, because of the lack of pulse-shaping technologies in the extreme ultraviolet (XUV) and X-ray domain.
