Effectiveness of Shiatsu on Fatigue in Patients with Axial Spondyloarthritis: Protocol for a Randomized Cross-Over Pilot Study.

Introduction: Spondyloarthritis (SpA) is a serious chronic inflammatory rheumatism implying different painful and crippling symptoms that require a multidisciplinary approach for the patient. Fatigue is one of the less well treated symptoms, even if its repercussion on everyday life is noticeable. Shiatsu is a Japanese preventive and well-being therapy that aims to promote better health.

Heat-killed Enterococcus faecalis alters nitric oxide and CXCL12 production but not CXCL8 and CCL3 production by cultured human dental pulp fibroblasts.

Introduction: Fibroblasts are the most abundant cells in dental pulp. To investigate their capacity to produce the chemokines CCL3, CXCL8, and CXCL12 as well as nitric oxide (NO), we evaluated the production of these mediators in supernatants of cultured human dental pulp fibroblasts (HDPF) stimulated by heat-killed Enterococcus faecalis (HKEF).

Methods: Primary cultures of HDPF were stimulated with medium alone or HKEF (1:1, 10:1, or 100:1 bacteria:fibroblast) for 1, 6, and 24 hours.

Bilateral mandibular canines with two roots and two separate canals: case report.

The mandibular canine is usually considered a single-rooted tooth with a single root canal. However, two canals and more rarely two roots may also occur. This paper reports the case of a patient with bilateral mandibular canines with two roots and two root canals.

Use of MTA and intracanal post reinforcement in a horizontally fractured tooth: a case report.

Root fracture is one of the consequences of dental traumatisms. The possibility of saving the fractured tooth depends on the level of the fracture and also on pulp vitality. This case report describes the use of MTA in association to an intracanal post to reinforce a maxillary central incisor with horizontal root fracture in its cervical third.

Evaluation of the tissue response to MTA and MBPC: Microscopic analysis of implants in alveolar bone of rats.

The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the quantitative and qualitative inflammatory responses and bone formation potential after implantation of polyethylene tubes filled with a new calcium hydroxide containing sealer (MBPc) and ProRoot mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA). There were 48 Wistar rats divided in three groups: Group I (control group) empty polyethylene tubes were implanted in the extraction site; group II and III, polyethylene tubes were implanted filled with ProRoot mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) and MBPc, respectively. At 7, 15, and 30 days after tube implantation, the animals were killed, the hemi-maxillas were removed and prepared to light microscopic analyses.
