Objective: To examine the safety of combination therapy with mitoxantrone (MITX) and interferon beta-1b (IFNbeta-1b) in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) and a high on-therapy relapse rate and enhancing lesions on baseline magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan.
Methods: Ten patients with worsening relapsing remitting or secondary progressive MS were studied using monthly MRI with triple-dose gadolinium contrast. All patients must have been on IFNbeta-1b for at least six months, have at least one enhancing lesion on a screening MRI, at least one relapse on IFNbeta-1b in the six months prior to study entry and be neutralizing antibody negative.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the incidence and to describe the CT findings of renal lymphoma in children.
Conclusion: Renal lymphoma was seen in 11 children, most commonly due to non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (n = 10, 91%) and Burkitt's subtype (n = 5, 45%). Multiple bilateral masses were the most common CT appearance.
We report the CT, MR imaging, and histologic findings in a patient with an intracranial mass diagnosed as xanthoma disseminatum (XD). The mass demonstrated radiographic findings typical for a glioma. However, histologic examination of brain and dermal lesions showed findings characteristic of XD.

The purpose of this investigation was to study its microstructural architecture in normal human adult brains by using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI).
Methods: Two hundred consecutive patients referred for brain MR imaging underwent additional DTI with a high gradient field strength applied in six directions.
Absence of the internal carotid artery (ICA) is a rare congenital anomaly. The embryology of the ICA and the common collateral pathways associated with its congenital absence are reviewed, with four new cases provided for illustration. While collateral blood flow may allow these patients to remain asymptomatic, two of our patients presented with transient ischemic attacks.
