Antibiotics which once a boon in medicine and saved millions of lives are now facing an ever-growing menace of antibacterial resistance, which desperately needs new antibacterial drugs which are innovative in chemistry and mode of action. For many years, the world has turned to natural plants with antibacterial properties to combat antibiotic resistance. On that basis, we aimed to identify plants with antibacterial and antibiotic potentiating properties.

The nexus between Islamic social finance, quality of human resource, governance, and poverty.

This research aims to examine the effects of the Islamic social finance (zakat), the Islamic Human Development Index (IHDI), and the quality of governance on poverty alleviation in 39 Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries from 2007 to 2020. This study uses a fixed effect model to analyze the relationship between variables. The findings show that the Islamic human development index, as a proxy for the quality of human resources, supports the reduction of poverty in OIC countries.

Survey of insect pests in the manuscripts library of Coptic museum in Egypt.

Museums are the main sources of cultural, political, economic, scientific and historic information in the communities. Pests in a museum, library or archive environment can cause serious damage to highly valuable and irreplaceable materials. A survey was conducted in the Manuscripts Library of the Coptic Museum (Egypt) to determine the biodiversity of insect pests infest the place.

Explaining distortions in metacognition with an attractor network model of decision uncertainty.

Metacognition is the ability to reflect on, and evaluate, our cognition and behaviour. Distortions in metacognition are common in mental health disorders, though the neural underpinnings of such dysfunction are unknown. One reason for this is that models of key components of metacognition, such as decision confidence, are generally specified at an algorithmic or process level.
