Accurate detection of peptides binding to specific Major Histocompatibility Complex Class I (MHC-I) molecules is extremely important for understanding the underlying process of the immune system, as well as for effective vaccine design and developing immunotherapies. Development of learning algorithms and their application for binding predictions have thus speeded up the state-of-the-art in immunological research, in a cost-effective manner. In this work, we propose the application of a hybrid filter-wrapper algorithm employing concepts from the recently developed biogeography based optimization algorithm, in conjunction with SVM and Random Forests for identification of MHC-I binding peptides.

The purpose of this study is mainly to evaluate the performance of the continuous recirculation flow cell at low current density and pH (the pH at which the effluents are available) in removing heavy metals from copper smelting effluent by cathodic reduction. The production of L-Glutamic acid has been studied using coimmobilized whole cells of pseudomonas reptilivora and micrococcus glutamicus in a three phase fluidized bed bioreactor with selected production medium enriched with glucose. The effect of initial substrate concentration, temperature, pH and aeration rate on the yield of glutamic acid has been investigated. It has been found that the acid production increases exponentially with substrate concentration and mass transfer co-efficient varied linearly with temperature and aeration rate.
