Objective: To explore and describe perceptions of provider inquiry regarding housing status among pregnant women experiencing housing instability.
Design: Secondary qualitative analysis using analytic expansion.
Setting: In-person and online interviews in the Mid-Atlantic and Washington, DC, region.
Purpose: To demonstrate the process and results of an equity analysis of a reproductive health association.
Description: A series of quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews were conducted with employees of Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts (PPLM), assessing different aspects of equity. Amaka Consulting and Evaluation Services, LLC, an external consulting agency, analyzed the results and provided recommendations for improvements.
Importance: Pregnant individuals who repeatedly use emergency care during pregnancy represent a population who could be disproportionately vulnerable to harm, including severe maternal morbidity (SMM).
Objective: To explore patterns of unscheduled care visits during pregnancy and ascertain its association with SMM at the time of birth.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This cohort study used data from a statewide database that linked hospital records to births and fetal deaths occurring between October 1, 2002, and March 31, 2020, in Massachusetts.
Importance: Limited access to healthy foods, resulting from residence in neighborhoods with low food access, is a public health concern. The contribution of this exposure in early life to child obesity remains uncertain.
Objective: To examine associations of neighborhood food access during pregnancy or early childhood with child body mass index (BMI) and obesity risk.
