Evaluation of the knowledge level and practices of family physicians about newborn follow-up: survey-based observation and comparison of 220 physicians in Ankara, Turkey.

Objective: To compare the management-related practices and knowledge levels of family physicians about newborns, and to identify the factors that affected their practices and knowledge levels.

Methods: The descriptive study was conducted at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Yenimahalle Training and Research Hospital, Ankara, Turkiye from August to November 2021, and comprised general practitioner family physicians, family medicine specialists and family medicine residents. Data was collected using a 26-item e-survey prepared on Google Forms that covered demographic and occupational information, including neonatal practices and knowledge regarding newborn follow-up.

Relationship between combined systemic inflammatory indices with presence and severity of hyperemesis gravidarum.

Objective: Our study aims to determine the levels of systemic inflammation markers and the combined systemic inflammation indices in hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) patients and to investigate the association between the severity of the disease.

Patients And Methods: The study population consisted of 83 pregnant women with HG and 100 healthy pregnant women matched for gestational age as a control group. We grouped the HG patients according to the Modified Pregnancy Unique Quantification of Emesis/Nausea (PUQE) scoring system as mild, moderate, and severe.

The D-dimer reference intervals in healty term newborns.

Objective: To determine the D-dimer reference intervals in the neonatal period.

Materials And Methods: The research had been carried out in the obstetrics and gynecology clinic and neonatal outpatient clinic of a third level hospital. Healthy term newborns aged between 1 and 28 days were enrolled in the study.

Objective: To determine the diagnostic importance, specificity, and sensitivity of these measurements for the diagnosis of neonatal infections and in discriminating between neonatal sepsis and various other infections.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective study of data from a consecutive series of 232 neonatal patients admitted to Yildirim Beyazit University Yenimahalle Training and Research Hospital in Ankara for 2 years from 2016 to 2018.

Does Interval between Breastfeedıng and Heel Lance Affect the Perception of Pain in Newborns?

Objective: To investigate whether the duration between breastfeeding and heel lance has an effect on babies' pain perception.

Study Design: A randomised trial.
