Expression of micro-RNA hsa-miR-30c-5p and hsa-miR-138-1 in renal cell carcinoma.

Aim: To analyze the expression levels of hsa-miR-30c-5p and hsa-miR-138-1 in tumors of patients with renal cell carcinoma to determine whether they could be used as diagnostic markers.

Materials And Methods: The relative expression of hsa-miR-30c-5p and hsa-miR-138-1 was compared in the paired samples of kidney tumor tissue and conventionally normal tissue adjacent to the tumor.

Results: We found a significant decrease in miR-30c-5p and miR-138-1 levels in tumor tissues even in the cases of early stage cancer.

[Comparative evaluation of therapeutic effects of 3 and 4 antitubercular agents at the initial stage of the treatment of renal tuberculosis].

Three groups of the parameters of the therapeutic effects of 3 and 4 antituberculous drugs on renal tuberculous inflammation were identified. The primary effect of 4 drugs was much frequently manifested itself by the normalization of urinalysis and the transfer of cultured to uncultured Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MBT). The equivalent effect of 3 and 4 drugs was characterized by the similar rate of continuation of specific mycobacteriuria, by the detection of MBT in the cavernous contents from the removed tuberculosis-afflicted kidney and by the equivalent morphological characteristics of tuberculous inflammation involution.

[Complex characterization of the quality of hospital care provided patients with glomerulonephritis (as per a regional nephrology department)].

Based on expert examination of 296 histories of 145 patients with glomerulonephritis the frequency of errors being made in examining of patients at the prehospital stage, in hospital, has been estimated. Kinds of errors include diagnostic errors (primarily in defining forms and variants of the disease), errors in administering treatments to patients. This necessitated raising the level of the primary link in the nephrological educational program for medical men and warrants development of alternative forms of the in-patient medical care delivery to patients with glomerulonephritis.

[Prerequisites and some aspects of hospitalization of patients with glomerular nephritis].

Data are submitted on the pattern of reasons for hospitalization, rehospitalization of patients with glomerulonephritis depending on the purpose and duration of the in-patient care over three-year activity of the regional nephrologic department. The authors have come to the conclusion that it is necessary that an expert evaluation of quality of diagnosis and treatment of glomerulonephrities patients should be carried out, which measure will, we believe, help in uncovering the existing shortcomings and their causes during stages of medical care delivery and in finding ways for improvement of the system of the nephrological service with special reference to such kinds of it as day clinics and domociliary medical services.
