Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection remains one of the most common and challenging post-transplant infections. Children with inborn errors of immunity (IEI) and T-cell dysfunction are at high risk for CMV infection, which can be complicated by refractory and/or resistant cases. This case describes a Nepalese girl with MHC class II deficiency, who presented at 3 months of age with CMV and Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia.

Article Synopsis
  • Two-component micro-powder injection moulding (2C-μPIM) is being explored as a cost-effective method to create bi-material micro-components using stainless steel 316L and zirconia, though it encounters challenges like cracks at material interfaces during sintering.
  • This study focused on how incorporating SS316L nanoparticles into bimodal SS316L powders affects the sintering process and quality of the fabricated bi-materials.
  • Results showed that increasing the nanoparticle content improved the critical powder loading, relative density, and hardness of the materials, with a notable reduction in interface cracks, achieving a completely crack-free interface at 45 vol.% nanoparticle content.

This review aimed to systematically compare and pool the prevalence of all the known evidence on caregiver hesitancy and to describe the factors influencing vaccine hesitancy among caregiver worldwide such as COVID-19, MMR, Influenza, HPV and others. We searched article from few electronic databases (PubMed, CENTRAL, ProQuest, and Web of Science) from inception to August 2023 using specific keywords for example caregiver, parents, prevalence, factor, hesitancy, and others. We included population-based studies that reported the prevalence of caregiver hesitancy.

Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is a prevalent complication of diabetes that affects a significant proportion of diabetic patients worldwide. Although the pathogenesis of DPN involves axonal atrophy and demyelination, the exact mechanisms remain elusive. Current research has predominantly focused on neuronal damage, overlooking the potential contributions of Schwann cells, which are the predominant glial cells in the peripheral nervous system.
