Background: Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) in medicine and women faculty have lower 10-year promotion rates than their White and male peers, despite controlling for productivity metrics. Promotion standards vary across institutions, but there is likely a common need to improve transparency and consistency while mitigating bias, inequity, and the harm of additional equity work that is commonly expected of Black, Indigenous, People of Color and women faculty (the so-called minority tax).
Methods: A promotion advisory committee consisting of clinical and research faculty at all ranks specified expectations for a faculty member at the associate or full professor ranks, with 10-15 examples given for each "mission" (clinical, research, and education).
A woman in her 70s with well-controlled HIV on antiretroviral therapy presented with a several-month history of an asymptomatic perianal lesion. Skin examination showed a 0.5-1 cm red-pink, shiny, exophytic papule with visible telangiectasias near the anal verge.

Background: People with intellectual disabilities have traditionally been excluded from Advance Care (AC) planning. This study aimed to improve access to and the quality of AC planning for this community.
Method: A Participatory Action Research study was led, and participated in, by co-researchers with intellectual disabilities and disability service managers.
The global diversity of Proterozoic eukaryote fossils is poorly quantified despite its fundamental importance to the understanding of macroevolutionary patterns and dynamics on the early Earth. Here we report a new construction of fossil eukaryote diversity from the Paleoproterozoic to early Cambrian based on a comprehensive data compilation and quantitative analyses. The resulting taxonomic richness curve verifies Cryogenian glaciations as a major divide that separates the "Boring Billion" and Ediacaran periods, with the former characterized by a prolonged stasis, and the latter by greater diversity, more-rapid turnover, and multiple radiations and extinctions.

Haitian women employed in factories are especially vulnerable because they are unable to take time away from work to access health resources.
