Metals and metalloids pollution levels, partitioning, and sources in the environmental compartments of a small urban catchment in Moscow megacity.

This study examines the contamination levels and sources of 32 metals and metalloids (MMs) in environmental compartments (roadside soil, road dust, and river suspended sediments) of a small urbanized river catchment located in Moscow megacity. MMs partitioning between particle size fractions (PM, PM, and PM) was analyzed by ICP-MS and ICP-AES methods. The pollution level of particle size fractions with MMs decreases in the following series: road dust > suspended sediments > soils.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative joint disease with limited therapeutic options, where inflammation plays a critical role in disease progression. Extracellular vesicles (EV) derived from mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC) have shown potential as a therapeutic approach for OA by modulating inflammation and alleviating degenerative processes in the joint. This study evaluated the therapeutic effects for the treatment of OA of two types of EV-exosomes and matrix-bound nanovesicles (MBV)-both derived from the human umbilical cord MSC (UC-MSC) via differential ultracentrifugation.

The use of a connective tissue graft from the palate is the gold standard of such surgical treatment, but complications, especially in cases of extensive defects, have led to the development of approaches using xenogeneic collagen matrices and methods to stimulate their regenerative and vasculogenic potential. This study investigated the potential of a xenogeneic scaffold derived from porcine skin Mucoderm and injections of the pCMV-VEGF165 plasmid ('Neovasculgen') to enhance soft gingival tissue volume and vascularization in an experimental model in rabbits.

This study aimed to examine the associations of somatic burden with psychological resources such as optimism, resilience, and general self-efficacy. Russian participants (n = 1020) completed measures of psychological resources at Time 1 and somatic symptoms at Time 2.

This reduces the patient's quality of life and leads to psychological discomfort. The treatment of nasal septum perforation is selected taking into account the clinical manifestations, perforation parameters and general condition of the patient.
