Background: The Global Calculator is an open-source model of the world's energy, land, and food systems. It is a pioneering online calculator to project the impact of interventions to mitigate climate change on global temperature. A few studies have been conducted to evaluate the health co-benefits of climate change mitigation, though they are still fragmentary.

Here, we report up to 3-year pre-specified interim safety and efficacy results of an open-label first-in-human dose-escalation phase 1/2 gene therapy clinical trial in 12 patients with retinal dystrophy caused by biallelic mutations in the retinaldehyde-binding protein 1 (RLBP1) gene of the visual cycle. The primary endpoints were systemic and ocular safety and recovery of dark adaptation.

Here, we investigated the mechanism of action and the biological effects of GP-2250 using in vitro and in vivo models.
Methods: We carried out a series of in vitro (MTT assay, Annexin V/PI assay, colony formation assay, reverse-phase protein array [RPPA], and HRLC/IC analysis) to determine the biological activity of GP-2250 and investigate the mechanism of action.
Proteins' fuzziness are features for communicating changes in cell signaling instigated by binding with secondary messengers, such as calcium ions, associated with the coordination of muscle contraction, neurotransmitter release, and gene expression. Binding with the disordered parts of a protein, calcium ions must balance their charge states with the shape of calcium-binding proteins and their versatile pool of partners depending on the circumstances they transmit, but it is unclear whether the limited experimental data available can be used to train models to accurately predict the charges of calcium-binding protein variants. Here, we developed a chemistry-informed, machine-learning algorithm that implements a game theoretic approach to explain the output of a machine-learning model without the prerequisite of an excessively large database for high-performance prediction of atomic charges.

Purpose: To understand primary care provider participation in Medicaid programs across states and provider specialties and professions.
Methods: We examined the 2016 Medicaid claims data across 45 states and territories from the Transformed Medicaid Statistical Information System (T-MSIS).
Results: Of the 616,182 primary care providers we identified, 111,152 (18.
