POLD3 as Controller of Replicative DNA Repair.

Multiple modes of DNA repair need DNA synthesis by DNA polymerase enzymes. The eukaryotic B-family DNA polymerase complexes delta (Polδ) and zeta (Polζ) help to repair DNA strand breaks when primed by homologous recombination or single-strand DNA annealing. DNA synthesis by Polδ and Polζ is mutagenic, but is needed for the survival of cells in the presence of DNA strand breaks.

Diffuse alveolar haemorrhage in children hospitalised in a tertiary‑level hospital: A retrospective descriptive study.

Background: Diffuse alveolar haemorrhage (DAH) is considered a rare condition in children. There is no consensus on the management of DAH syndromes in Africa or other low- and middle-income countries. In this brief report, the clinical characteristics, management and outcomes of children treated for DAH in the Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital paediatric pulmonology unit in Johannesburg, South Africa are described.

Mutations have been recovered in that affect both the localization of such organelles along anterior-posterior and circumferential body axes and their dimensions. A Drug Repurposing Screen Identifies Fludarabine Phosphate as a Potential Therapeutic Agent for N-MYC Overexpressing Neuroendocrine Prostate Cancers.

Neuroendocrine prostate cancer (NEPC) represents a highly aggressive form of prostate tumors. NEPC results from trans-differentiated castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) with increasing evidence indicating that the incidence of NEPC often results from the adaptive response to androgen deprivation therapy. Recent studies have shown that a subset of NEPC exhibits overexpression of the oncogene along with the loss of tumor suppressing TP53 and RB1 activities.

Delayed adverse reaction to a natural dermal filler mimicking salivary gland neoplasia.

Background: Cosmetic dermal fillers are a sought-after procedure globally. However, despite the safety claims of filler materials by the manufacturers, adverse reactions still occur.

Case Presentation: This case report is of a 66-year-old female who presented with a late-onset complication of a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that clinically mimicked a salivary gland neoplasm.
