Delayed eruption of permanent maxillary first molars among Saudi children: A cross-sectional study.

Aim: This retrospective cross-sectional study aimed to determine the prevalence of delayed development and eruption of permanent maxillary first molars (U6) and associated dental anomalies in a sample of Saudi children.

Material And Methods: In total, 10,232 panoramic radiographs from 9,672 patients were screened for delayed U6 eruption. Radiographs showing delayed U6 eruption were further examined for associated dental anomalies.

Bleaching Stained Arrested Caries Lesions: In vivo Clinical Study.

Objective:  Conservative approaches to esthetically treat stained arrested caries lesions (s-ACLs) have not been explored in clinical studies. This study aims to investigate the efficacy of in-office dental bleaching agent, as a conservative approach, to esthetically treat s-ACLs.

Materials And Methods:  Twelve patients ( = 46) presented with s-ACLs were treated with 40% hydrogen peroxide (in-office bleaching protocol; 20 minutes × 3).

Prevalence of overweight and obesity among adolescents in eight Arab countries: comparison between two international standards (ARABEAT-2).

Objective: The aim of this study was to highlight the prevalence of overweight and obesity among adolescents in eight Arab countries.

Methods: A school-based cross-sectional study was conducted in eight Arab countries: Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Tunisia. The total sample included was 6,447 adolescents aged 15-18 years (3,111 males, 3,336 females).

Gender differences in leisure-time versus non-leisure-time physical activity among Saudi adolescents.

Objectives: The aim of the study was to examine the gender differences and predictors of leisure versus non-leisure time physical activities among Saudi adolescents aged 14-19 years.

Materials And Method: The multistage stratified cluster random sampling technique was used. A sample of 1,388 males and 1,500 females enrolled in secondary schools in three major cities in Saudi Arabia was included.

The nutrition transition with associated lifestyle-related non-communicable diseases has rapidly reached many developing countries, including Saudi Arabia. Therefore, the objective of this study was to examine the prevalence of overweight, obesity, and abdominal obesity among Saudi adolescents. This school-based multicentre cross-sectional study was conducted during 2009-2010 in three major cities in Saudi Arabia: Al-Khobar, Jeddah, and Riyadh.
