Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the quality of life (QoL) of patients with dentofacial deformity (n = 107) compared with that of healthy individuals (n = 108) from 2019 to 2020.
Methods: Oral Health Impact Profile 14 (OHIP-14) and the Orthognathic Quality of Life Questionnaire (OQLQ) were administered to the individuals before surgery (T1) and 6 months after surgery (T2).
Results: Preoperative scores (T1) were greater in the surgical group than in the control group in all domains of both surveys (p ≤ 0.
Determining the postmortem interval (PMI) is one of the main study subjects of forensic sciences. The main purpose of this prospective in vitro study that was the Micro-CT evaluation of teeth crown and root pulp volume versus dentin thickness in terms of PMI determination. The study involved 60 female Wistar rats, with weights ranging from 270 to 320 g.

Despite these options, the ideal method to repair this kind of chronic fistula has not yet been established. It is difficult to repair because recurrent surgical repairs or interventions cause this region to become more fibrotic with less vascular tissue, which considerably reduces the likelihood of closing this kind of fistula.

This study aims to investigate the effects of mandibular setback surgery, performed in patients with skeletal class III deformity, on the thickness, width, elasticity index, and echogenic pattern of the masseter muscle.
Material And Methods: This prospective case-control study enrolled patients with class III deformity who underwent mandibular setback surgery, while the control group consisted of class I patients.

Introduction: The aim of this study is to examine the effects of changes in some cephalometric values on the changes in facial age and facial aesthetics scores after surgery in patients undergoing orthognathic surgery.
Material And Methods: Preoperative and postoperative photographs of 50 patients who underwent bilateral sagittal split osteotomy and LeFort I osteotomy were evaluated by 189 evaluators. Evaluators were asked to look at the photographs and estimate the age of the patient and give a score between 0 and 10 for facial aesthetics.
Objective: The effect of the modified step Le Fort I osteotomy on the inferior nasal structures and the nostril area was evaluated.
Materials And Methods: This study included 24 patients who had modified step Le Fort I osteotomy. Inferior nasal concha volume (INCV), meatus nasi inferior volume (MNIV), the sum of both structures volume (TV), and nostril area (NA) were evaluated in pre- (T0) and postoperative (T1) periods.
Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the surgically impacted trabecular changes in mandibular osteotomy lines and mandibular condyles after bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy using the fractal analysis method.
Materials And Method: The study population consisted of 30 patients (9 male, 21 female) diagnosed with mandibular prognathism and operated with bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy under general anesthesia. Fractal analyses observed the alterations on the trabecular structure of osteotomy lines, and mandibular condyles on panoramic radiographs obtained preoperatively, postoperatively, 1st week, 6th month, and 12th month.
The purpose of the present study was to investigate the vitality aspect of mandibular fractures using micro-CT in the analysis of bone mineral density and other bone microstructure trabecular parameters in the postmortem interval. This study included 72 female Wistar rats. In the study groups, the rats' mandibles were first fractured and after three days of living, the rats were sacrificed.

Materials And Methods: A single-center, randomized, clinical trial was conducted with 52 patients (36 female, 16 male) who expected severe postoperative sequelae as a result of the extraction of impacted mandibular third molars. The patients were randomized into three groups.

Objective: The goal of this retrospective study is to examine the changes of maxillary sinus volume, sinus membrane thickness (SMT) and the distance between the floor of maxillary sinus and ostium after Le Fort I osteotomy.
Methods: A total of 30 patients who underwent Le Fort I osteotomy were evaluated just before and 1 year after the surgical operation. Linear and volumetric measurements were done via 3D-DOCTOR software on sectional and 3D images.
Objective: The estimation of time of death or the determination of the postmortem interval (PMI) is one of the most important issues in forensic medicine and odontology. However, evaluation of bone and dental hard tissues in PMI could be challenging due to the lack of objective methods with high accuracy. In this respect, micro-CT analysis which has not been used for postmortem evaluation would be beneficial in evaluating hard tissues such as bones and teeth.

Methods: Thirty-eight patients who underwent periapical surgery were included in this study. The cases were divided into two subgroups: (1) In the gutta-percha group, root cavity and root-end fillings were not performed after root resection.
Statement Of The Problem: The removal of a third molar tooth associated with a pathological condition is usually an easy decision. However, it is necessary for clinicians to know about the prevalence of preoperative pathologies associated with impacted mandibular third molars to the identification of the prophylactic approach to be applied to symptom-free impacted third molars.
Purpose: The objective was to investigate the effect of the angulation of impacted mandibular third molars on the prevalence of associated pathologies.

Methods: FD analysis was conducted using ImageJ 1.3 software (National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD, USA) with the box-counting method on panoramic radiographs of 33 patients taking bisphosphonates (13 males and 20 females) and 33 healthy sex- and age-matched individuals.
Elongation of the styloid process is a rare condition. Only 4% of patients have clinical symptoms where elongated styloid process (ESP) occasionally irritates or disrupts adjacent anatomical structures, which is called Eagle syndrome. This present report was aimed at reporting an asymptomatic ESP with unusual width and length.

Methods: Wistar rats were divided into six experimental groups: 1; non-ligated (NL, n = 6) group, 2; ligature only (LO, n = 6) group, 3; streptozotocin only (STZ, n = 8) group, 4; STZ and ligature (STZ + L, n = 8) group, 5; ligature and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) (L + CLA, n = 8) group, 6; STZ, ligature and CLA group (STZ + L + CLA, n = 8) group. Diabetes mellitus was induced by 60 mg/kg streptozotocin.
Background: Short implants have become popular in the reconstruction of jaws, especially in cases with limited bone height. Shorter implants, those with locking tapers and plateau root shapes, tend to have longer survival times. We retrospectively investigated the cumulative survival rates of Bicon short implants (<8 mm) according to patient variables over a 5-year period.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the superior semicircular canal (SSCC) morphology and to determine whether superior semicircular canal dehiscence (SSCD) correlates with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) symptoms.
Study Design: Clinical data and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans of 175 patients were retrospectively examined by 2 observers. Distribution and thickness measurements of the different types of bone cover of the SSCC were performed.
The foramen tympanicum is a persistent anatomic formation of the temporal bone due to a defect in ossification normal bone physiology in neonatal or postnatal period. This study determined the occurrence and location of the foramen tympanicum in a Turkish sample using cone-beam computed tomography. Scans of 370 sites in 185 patients were retrospectively analyzed to determine foramen tympanicum occurrence, sizes, and locations according to their orthodontic malocclusions.
