Background: Alopecia areata (AA) is a chronic autoimmune disease that leads to a high psychiatric, economic and systemic disease burden. A comprehensive understanding of AA epidemiology is essential for evaluating healthcare source utilization; however, a systematic approach to summarizing epidemiological data on AA is lacking.

Objectives: To investigate systematically the global, regional and national incidence and prevalence of AA.

Background: Clinical practice guidelines recommend testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for men with sexual dysfunction and testosterone deficiency. However, TRT is commonly promoted in men without testosterone deficiency and existing trials often do not clearly report participants' testosterone levels or testosterone-related symptoms. This review assesses the potential benefits and harms of TRT in men presenting with complaints of sexual dysfunction.

Background And Aims: There are limited data on the association between uterine cervical cancer (UCC) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which includes Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC).

Methods: This systematic review and meta-analysis assessed the risk of UCC in patients with IBD. We searched MEDLINE, Embase, Cochrane Library, Scopus, Web of Science, ClinicalTrials.

To assess the effects of fosfomycin compared with other antibiotics as a prophylaxis for urinary tract infections (UTIs) in men undergoing transrectal prostate biopsies. We searched multiple databases and trial registries without publication language or status restrictions until 4 January 2022. Parallel-group randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and non-randomized studies (NRS) were included.

Background: Treatments for clinically localized prostate cancer include radical prostatectomy, external beam radiation therapy, brachytherapy, active surveillance, hormonal therapy, and watchful waiting. For external beam radiation therapy, oncological outcomes may be expected to improve as the dose of radiotherapy (RT) increases. However, radiation-mediated side effects on surrounding critical organs may also increase.

: Perioperative probiotic administration in patients who undergo gastrointestinal surgery can reduce postoperative infectious complications. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effect of probiotics on postoperative outcomes in patients who underwent colorectal cancer surgery. : For this study, we followed the protocol published by PROSPERO (registration number: CRD42021247277).

: This study aimed to compare the effects of high ligation (HL) versus low ligation (LL) in colorectal cancer surgery. : We performed a comprehensive search using multiple databases (trial registries and ClinicalTrials.gov), other sources of grey literature, and conference proceedings, with no restrictions on the language or publication status, up until 10 March 2021.

Purpose: Nocturia is the most bothersome of lower urinary tract symptoms in men. Desmopressin, a synthetic analog of the human hormone vasopressin, has been used for the treatment of nocturia. However, the guidelines include varying recommendations for the use of desmopressin for the management of nocturia in men.

Objectives: To assess the effects of prostatic arterial embolisation (PAE) compared to other procedures for treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

Methods: We included randomised controlled trials (RCTs), as well as non-randomised studies (NRSs) enrolling men with BPH undergoing PAE vs other surgical interventions via a comprehensive search up until 8 November 2021. Two independent reviewers screened the literature, extracted data, assessed risk of bias, performed statistical analyses by using a random-effects model, and rated the certainty of evidence (CoE) of RCTs and NRSs.

Sedation can resolve anxiety and fear in patients undergoing endoscopy. The use of sedatives has increased in Korea. Appropriate sedation is a state in which the patient feels subjectively comfortable while maintaining the airway reflex for stable spontaneous breathing.

Background: A variety of minimally invasive surgical approaches are available as an alternative to transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) for management of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Prostatic arterial embolization (PAE) is a relatively new, minimally invasive treatment approach.

Objectives: To assess the effects of PAE compared to other procedures for treatment of LUTS in men with BPH.

Objectives: To assess the effects of blue-light (BL)-enhanced transurethral resection of bladder tumour (TURBT) compared to white-light (WL)-based TURBT in the treatment of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC).

Methods: Based on a published protocol, we performed a systematic search of multiple databases from their inception to March 2021. We included randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing blue-light (BL) TURBT to white-light (WL) TURBT.

Background: Disease recurrence and progression remain major challenges in the treatment of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). Blue light-enhanced transurethral resection of bladder cancer (TURBT) is an approach to improve staging and achieve a complete resection of NMIBC.

Objectives: To assess the effects of blue light-enhanced TURBT compared to white light-based TURBT in the treatment of NMIBC.

Beta-3 adrenoceptor (B3AR) agonist which mediate detrusor relaxation has been tried as a new treatment modality for men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). However, it remains unclear whether the B3AR agonist has more clinical benefits and fewer adverse effects in men with BPH than in women. We performed a comprehensive search using multiple databases, trials registries, other sources of grey literature, and conference proceedings regardless of language or publication status and included randomized controlled trials.

Background: New minimal invasive surgeries have been suggested as alternative options to transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) for the management of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Convective radiofrequency water vapour thermal therapy is a new technology that uses targeted, controlled water vapour energy (steam) to create necrotic tissue in the prostate.

Objectives: To assess the effects of convective radiofrequency water vapour thermal therapy for the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia.

We propose a method to improve the axial response of structured illumination microscopy via selection of an illumination pattern with a sinusoidal or square wave within the cutoff frequency of the imaging system. Residual modulation within a sectioned image is mitigated by accurate phase-shifting via the electrical spatial light modulator control signal, which is based on an illumination pattern having a suitable waveform. Reduction in residual modulation is observed in the sinusoidal pattern with a spatial frequency sufficiently below the cutoff frequency of the imaging system.

Background: A variety of minimally invasive surgical approaches are available as an alternative to transurethral resection of prostate (TURP) for the management of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). A recent addition to these is prostatic urethral lift (PUL).

Objectives: To assess the effects of PUL for the treatment of LUTS in men with BPH.

Background: Single-dose, postoperative intravesical chemotherapy reduces the risk of bladder cancer recurrence after transurethral resection of bladder tumours. However, there is limited evidence whether single-dose intravesical chemotherapy is similarly effective at preventing bladder cancer recurrence after nephroureterectomy.

Objectives: To assess the effects of single-dose intravesical chemotherapy instillation after nephroureterectomy for upper tract urothelial carcinoma.
