MRI Findings of COVID-19 Associated Acute Necrotizing Encephalopathy in Two Pediatric Patients: Case Report and Literature Review.

Acute necrotizing encephalopathy (ANE) is a rare immune-mediated complication of a viral infection commonly involving the bilateral thalamus and has been reported mainly in children. Here, we describe the MRI findings of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-associated ANE in two pediatric patients, including a 7-year-old girl with fever and mental change, and a 6-year-old girl with fever and generalized seizures. Brain MRI revealed symmetrical T2 fluid attenuated inversion recovery high-signal intensity lesions in the bilateral thalamus with central hemorrhage.

The development of a novel coffee bean matrix certified reference material (CRM) for elemental analysis is described. The CRM was prepared by processing green coffee beans into a dry homogeneous powder. Mass fractions of elements in the CRM were measured using double isotope dilution inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (double ID-ICP-MS), and measurement results for eight elements (Mg, Ca, Fe, Cu, Zn, Cd, Hg, and Pb) of sufficient quality were certified.

Association of self-reported psychiatric and systemic risk factors in dry eye disease in adult Korean population.

Purpose: To evaluate the association between dry eye disease (DED) and various psychiatric and systemic diseases in an adult Korean population aged 40 years or older.

Methods: Population-based cross-sectional data of 6,732 participants aged ≥40 years was extracted from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2017-2018 (KNHANES VII). Data including DED, demographic variables, behavioral factors, psychiatric conditions, and systemic diseases was analysed to determine the prevalence and psychiatric and systemic risk factors for DED.
