Cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitors (CKIs), ribociclib, palbocilb and abemaciclib, have been approved in combination with endocrine therapy for the treatment of hormone receptor-positive and human epidermal growth factor 2-negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer. Severe dermatological adverse events are rare with these agents; however, they require direct recognition and management in order not to become life-threatening. Erythema multiforme (EM) belongs to a dermatopathic spectrum that includes immune-mediated, widespread hypersensitivity reaction, which occurs with varying degrees of severity and affects the skin and/or the mucosa.

Methods: The present meta-analysis pooled the effects of outcomes of 1,027 patients enrolled in 16 randomized controlled trials.
Results: The meta-analysis revealed an advantage to the use of stents compared to locoregional modality treatments with respect to the number of patients requiring reinterventions, although the latter treatment arm had a higher 1-year survival.
The tonsils of 630 pigs from 45 English farms using three different rearing methods (Assured British Pigs, Open Management and Organic) were examined between 2003 and 2005 in order to investigate if the low incidence of human yersiniosis could be attributed to a low prevalence of enteropathogenic Yersinia among English pigs. In addition, different isolation methods were compared, possible differences in prevalence among pigs were studied, as well as the prevalence of different bioserotypes of enteropathogenic Yersinia. A high prevalence and a wide diversity of bioserotypes of enteropathogenic Yersinia compared to other European countries were observed.

Materials And Methods: Twenty-three patients with osteoid osteomas in common (nine cases) and technically challenging [14 cases: intra-articular (n = 7), spinal (n = 5), metaphyseal (n = 2)] positions were treated with CT-guided RF ablation. Therapy was performed under conscious sedation with a seven-array expandable RF electrode for 8-10 min at 80-110 degrees C and power of 90-110 W.
Introduction: Primary tumors of the appendix are unusual and most of them are carcinoids. Their main presentation is that of an acute appendicitis or as a palpable mass, mainly in the right lower quadrant.
Case Presentation: A female patient with mucous adenocarcinoma of the appendix, which primarily presented as atypical abdominal pain.
Purpose: This retrospective study was performed to review the efficacy of local radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in all the management of liver cancer of unknown primary site (CUP), and to identify possible prognostic features and complications that affect the efficacy of this treatment on survival.
Materials And Methods: From April 2003 to December 2007, 22 patients (15 men, 7 women) with a total of 36 liver metastasis of CUP and poor response to prior systemic chemotherapy were treated with computed tomography-guided RFA. The median age of patients was 66 years.
Purpose: To present our results in a series of 35 patients with malignant pulmonary lesions, who underwent radiofrequency thermal ablation (RFA) during a period of 18 months.
Materials And Methods: In our institution, 55 RFA sessions under computed tomography (CT) guidance were performed on 48 pulmonary malignant lesions (23 inoperable primary and 25 metastatic) in 35 patients.
Results: Total necrosis was noted in 19 primary (82.
Aim: To evaluate the efficacy and complications of computed tomography (CT)-guided radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Methods: A retrospective study of 282 patients (231 males, 51 females, age range: 44-76 years, mean age: 62 years) with HCC (322 lesions) who had been treated by CT-guided RFA over a period of 5 years, was performed. The diameter of the tumors ranged from 1.
Background: The purpose of this study was to compare outcomes after duct-to-duct anastomoses with or without biliary T-tube in orthotopic liver transplantation.
Methods: We pooled the outcomes of 1027 patients undergoing choledocho-choledochostomy with or without T-tube in 9 of 46 screened trials by means of fixed or random effects models.
Results: The "without T-tube" and "with T-tube" groups had equivalent outcomes for: anastomotic bile leaks or fistulas, choledocho-jejunostomy revisions, dilatation and stenting, hepatic artery thromboses, retransplantation, and mortality due to biliary complications.
To examine the impact of steroid withdrawal from the immunosuppression protocols in liver transplantation. The electronic databases Medline, Embase, Pubmed and the Cochrane Library were searched. Meta-analysis pooled the effects of outcomes of a total of 2590 patients enrolled into 21 randomized controlled trials (RCTs), using classic and modern meta-analytic methods.

Although it is generally feasible and effective for local tumor control, some conditions may affect its feasibility and effectiveness. Herein the authors report their experience with two patients with lung malignancies contiguous to the aorta who were successfully treated with radiofrequency ablation, even though it initially appeared highly risky due to the possible fatal complications.

A number of different methods have been proposed for pain relief in cancer patients with bone metastases, each with different indications, contraindications and complications (systemic analgesics, bisphosphonates, antitumor chemotherapy, radiotherapy, systemic radio-isotopes, local surgery and vertebroplasty). The ideal treatment has to be fast, safe, effective and tolerable for the patient. CT-guided radiofrequency (RF) ablation may fulfill these criteria.

Surgery of hydatid cysts is often complicated with intrabiliary rupture (IBR), which if not recognized may lead to biliary fistula with rather high rates of morbidity and mortality. We report our experience with the application of radiofrequency (RF) ablation for the treatment of an operated hepatic echinococcal cyst which was complicated with biliocystic communication and cysteocutaneous fistula with bile leakage. RF ablation was performed under CT guidance into the remaining cyst through the cutaneous fistula.
