In this study, we propose an enhanced LiDAR-based mapping and localization system that utilizes a camera-based YOLO (You Only Look Once) algorithm to detect and remove dynamic objects, such as vehicles, from the mapping process. GPS, while commonly used for localization, often fails in urban environments due to signal blockages. To address this limitation, our system integrates YOLOv4 with LiDAR, enabling the removal of dynamic objects to improve map accuracy and localization in high-traffic areas.

In the context of LiDAR sensor-based autonomous vehicles, segmentation networks play a crucial role in accurately identifying and classifying objects. However, discrepancies between the types of LiDAR sensors used for training the network and those deployed in real-world driving environments can lead to performance degradation due to differences in the input tensor attributes, such as x, y, and z coordinates, and intensity. To address this issue, we propose novel intensity rendering and data interpolation techniques.

Background: Compound K (CK) is among the protopanaxadiol (PPD)-type ginsenoside group, which produces multiple pharmacological effects. Herein, we examined the effects of CK on muscle atrophy under hyperlipidemic conditions along with its pro-myogenic effects. Further, the molecular pathways underlying the effects of CK on skeletal muscle have been justified.

Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress plays a causative role in the development of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Kynurenic acid (KA) is a tryptophan metabolite that has been shown to exert anti-inflammatory effects in macrophages and endothelial cells. However, the role of KA in ER stress-associated development of NAFLD has not been fully explored.

Regular exercise is the first line of therapy for treating obesity-mediated metabolic disorders, including insulin resistance. It has been reported that developmental endothelial locus-1 (DEL-1) enhances macrophage efferocytosis, resulting in inflammation clearance as well as improves insulin resistance in skeletal muscle. However, the relationship between exercise and DEL-1, and the effects of DEL-1 on insulin signalling in adipocytes have not been fully elucidated to date.

Background: Although the number of medical institutions running a smoking cessation clinic is on the rise, there remains a paucity of research on the long- and short-term success rates of smoking cessation programs, as well as on smoking relapse rates, before and after project implementation. This study assessed the general characteristics of patients visiting the smoking cessation clinic, success rate of smoking cessation in the short term, and risks of relapse.

Methods: Medical records from March 2015 to April 2017 were analyzed and telephone surveys were conducted with 151 smokers who visited a hospital smoking cessation clinic from March 2015 to April 2017.

A new neutral silicon-based traceless activation group (TAG) for visible-light photoredox-catalyzed hydroalkoxymethylation of alkenes is presented. This reaction involves in-situ-generated alkoxymethyl radical via single electron oxidation (SET) of α-TMS-substituted ethers, followed by subsequent conjugate addition to activated alkenes. Various functional groups were tolerated both under mild metal and metal-free conditions to provide good to excellent yields.

We fabricated crystalline Si solar cells with the inclusion of various Ag nanodots into the additional emitters of nanocrystallite Si thin films. The fabricated process was carried out on the emitter surface of p-n junction for the textured p-type wafer. The Ag thin films were deposited on emitter surfaces and annealed at various temperatures.

We investigated solar cells containing temperature-dependent Ag nanodots embedded in an amorphous Si thin film layer by using hot-wire chemical vapor deposition in order to improve the properties of crystalline Si solar cells. An Ag thin film with a thickness of 10 nm was deposited by DC sputtering followed by annealing at various temperatures ranging from 250 to 850 degrees C for 15 min under N2 gas. As increasing the annealing temperature, the Ag nanodots were enlarged and the photoreflectances of the samples with Ag nanodots were lower than the reference samples in the spectral range of 200-600 nm, demonstrating the plasmon effect of Ag nanodots.
