Background: Low back pain stands as a prevalent contributor to pain-related disability on a global scale. In addressing chronic low back pain (CLBP), there is a growing emphasis on incorporating psychological strategies into the management process. Among these, pain education interventions strive to reshape pain beliefs and mitigate the perceived threat of pain.

Frequency Of Vaginal Birth After Caesarean Section And Its Fetomaternal Outcome.

Background: Vaginal birth after caesarean section (VBAC) is associated with reduced blood loss and transfusions, fewer infections, and fewer thromboembolic events as compared to caesarean delivery. The current rate of repeat caesarean after one previous caesarean is above the WHO standard of 15%. We aimed to determine the occurrence of VBAC and to determine the occurrence of feto-maternal outcomes in successful VBAC cases so that trials of VBAC can be given to carefully selected patients to reduce the rate of repeat caesarean section.

Diabetic hypoglycaemia during Ramadan fasting: A trans-national observational real-world study.

Objectives: To describe the risk of hypoglycaemia during Ramadan and determine its risk factors, and the impact of hypoglycaemia on patients' behaviour.

Methods: A cross-sectional multi-country observational study, with data captured within 6 weeks after Ramadan 2015. Patients' and disease characteristics and its management, the risk of hypoglycaemia and patients' response to hypoglycaemia were recorded.

Spatial cognitive rehabilitation and motor recovery after stroke.

Purpose Of Review: Stroke rehabilitation needs to take major steps forward to reduce functional disability for survivors. In this article, we suggest that spatial retraining might greatly increase the efficiency and efficacy of motor rehabilitation, directly addressing the burden and cost of paralysis after stroke.

Recent Findings: Combining motor and cognitive treatment may be practical, as well as addressing the needs after moderate-to-severe stroke.

The surgical outcome of anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery.

Background: Anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery (ALCAPA) is a rare congenital anomaly which represents one of the most common causes of myocardial ischemia and infarction in children. This anomaly, if left untreated, results in a very high mortality rate within the first year of life. Yet, immediate surgical correction can lead to excellent results.

Open reduction and internal fixation for displaced supracondylar fractures of the humerus in children with crossed K-wires via lateral approach.

Objective: To assess the therapeutic results of open reduction and internal fixation with crossed K-wires via lateral approach for displaced supracondylar fractures of the humerus in children.

Methods: We prospectively followed 52 children who presented with Gartland type 3 displaced supracondylar fractures of the humerus and were managed by open reduction and internal fixation with crossed K-wires via lateral approach.There were 37 male and 15 female patients; average age was 7.

Traumatic hemipelvectomy with free gluteus maximus fillet flap covers: a case report.

Abstract: Traumatic hemipelvectomy is an uncommon and life threatening injury. We report a case of a 16-year-old boy involved in a traffic accident who presented with an almost circumferential pelvic wound with wide diastasis of the right sacroiliac joint and symphysis pubis. The injury was associated with complete avulsion of external and internal iliac vessels as well as the femoral and sciatic nerves.

Pulmonary sarcoidosis and autoimmune hemolytic anemia: possible common immune pathogenesis.

A 49-year-old female presented with autoimmune hemolytic anemia and positive warm antibodies. She was diagnosed with chronic pulmonary sarcoidosis. The patient was given prednisolone after which she had complete remission of autoimmune hemolytic anemia and stabilization of her pulmonary status.

Continuing day treatment programs promote recovery in schizophrenia: a case-based study.

Continuing day treatment programs focus on community stabilization through comprehensive individualized rehabilitation. They promote recovery through a variety of practical clinical therapeutic interventions. This empirically based report describes a continuing day treatment program's rehabilitation of four clients with schizophrenia, chronic type in a western New York mental health clinic who were in each of the specialty services: a two-phase program, a program for seniors, and a program for co-occurring substance dependence.

Hematological changes in tuberculous spondylitis patients at the Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia.

In this study, we compared the platelet count with erythrocyte sedimentation rates (ESR) in patients with tuberculous spondylitis to evaluate the correlation. This was a retrospective 3-year study covering January 2004 to December 2006 at the Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia. Platelet counts, hemoglobin levels, ESR, peripheral blood counts and peripheral blood smears on 17 patients with tuberculous spondylitis were obtained.

A rare complication of diabetes mellitus in a 65-year-old man.

Spontaneous diabetic myonecrosis is a rare complication of diabetes mellitus. It involves mostly the thigh and calf muscles. It presents with acute leg pain, without any evidence of systemic illness.

Radiation exposure to the surgeon during femoral interlocking nailing under fluoroscopic imaging.

Femoral interlocking nailing requires fluoroscopic assistance for insertion of the nail and distal screws. In this study, scattered radiation to the eye and hand of the operating surgeon was measured during the procedure. Thermo-luminescent dosimeter (TLD) was used to quantify the dose received by the surgeon.

Neonatal sepsis in Pakistan. Presentation and pathogens.

The case records of all neonates admitted to the neonatal unit at Aga Khan University Hospital (Karachi) in a 30 month period (Nov. 86-April 89) were analysed. Of 60 neonates with confirmed sepsis, 33 (55%) had non-nosocomial infection (NNC) whereas 27 (45%) had nosocomial sepsis (NC).
