Article Synopsis
  • Cold storage using hydrates is a promising but challenging technology, facing issues with hydrate formation and stability.
  • A study compared the effects of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and pure water on hydrate growth and stability, revealing that SDS significantly alters formation time and hydrate morphology.
  • Using a porous medium improved the stability and efficiency of cyclic hydrate formation, while combining thermal stimulation with depressurization accelerated hydrate dissociation, especially at lower backpressures.
