Introduction: Thermotolerant microbes are a group of microorganisms that survive in elevated temperatures. The thermotolerant microbes, which are found in geothermal heat zones, grow at temperatures of or above 45°C. The proteins present in such microbes are optimally active at these elevated temperatures.

In recent years, plant based scaffold due to its inherent properties such as mechanical stability, renewability, easy mass production, inexpensiveness, biocompatibility and biodegradability with low toxic effects have received much attention in the field of bone tissue engineering. Design of good tissue compatible plant based polymer scaffold plays a vital role in biomedicine, nanomedicine and in various tissue engineering applications. The present study focused on the fabrication of a novel herbal scaffold using the medicinal plants Spinacia oleracea (SO) and Cissus quadrangularis (CQ) extracts incorporated with Alginate (Alg), Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (CMC) by lyophilization method.

Input parameters were extraction time (10-20 min), temperature (40-60 °C), frequency (30-60 Hz), solid/liquid ratio (S/L) (1:20-1:40 g/mL) while pectin yield (PY%) was the output. Results showed that ANN-GA had a higher prediction efficiency than RSM.

Mitral stenosis is among the important morbid valvular conditions accounting for 25% of RHD cases. Percutaneous transmitral commissurotomy (PTMC) using Inoue balloon is the standard treatment for severe mitral stenosis with favorable Wilkins score.

PB design was employed to screen the six process variables (ethanol concentration, liquid-polymer ratio, NaOH concentration, CAA concentration, temperature and time). Central composite design (CCD) was used to study the interaction effects of ethanol concentration, NaOH concentration, CAA concentration and time on degree of substitution (DS) in carboxymethylated pectin (CMP).

The effects of different parameters, such as nature of biomass, type of acid, acid and biomass concentration, were studied. Under the optimum condition of 5% (v/v) HCl-treated biomass and biomass concentration (8%, w/v), the maximum yield of sugar (619 mg/g of biomass) was obtained.

Central composite design (CCD) of response surface method (RSM) was used to evaluate the linear and interaction effects of five medium variables (JSP, peptone, citric acid, KHPO and KHPO) for XG production. Maximum XG production (51.

Optimization of pectin extraction from muskmelon peel by response surface methodology (RSM) was investigated in this study. Box-Behnken Design (BBD) was used to identify the optimal level of the extraction variables such as time, pH and temperature.

Ensuring safety and long-term well being of the donor is of utmost priority. We describe a 21-year-old otherwise healthy donor with perimembranous Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) who successfully underwent donor hepatectomy after closure of the VSD.

Microbial abatement of toluene using Aspergillus niger in coir packed upflow bioreactor was investigated in this study. Toluene degrading microbes were isolated from municipal sewage effluent and identified by 16s rRNA sequencing method. The microbes were cultured in 2% (v/v) toluene input per day, which exhibited 95% removal efficiency with the kinetic correction value (R) of 0.

The aim of the present study is to identify and study the antioxidant, antimicrobial properties of the phytochemicals present in the crude extract of Eugenia caryophyllus flower buds. The antioxidant activity of the methanol, acetone and chloroform extract was evaluated by 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay.

In the present study, a new biofiltration system involving a selective microbial strain isolated from aerated municipal sewage water attached with coir as packing material was developed for toluene degradation. The selected fungal isolate was identified as Trichoderma asperellum by 16S ribosomal RNA (16S rRNA) sequencing method, and pylogenetic tree was constructed using BLASTn search. Effect of various factors on growth and toluene degradation by newly isolated T.

We report a teenager who presented with this unusual combination as a consequence of right-sided endocarditis. He presented with high fever, with chills and rigor, along with painful enlargement of the left testicle, a productive cough with progressive breathlessness, and joint pains.
