In this study, the antibacterial, antioxidant and cytotoxicity behaviour of silver ferrite nanoparticles (AgFeO2 NPs) synthesized through chemical and green routes were compared. Green synthesis (Bio) of AgFeO2 NPs were prepared by precipitation method using Amaranthus blitum leaves extract as a reducing agent. Chemical synthesis (Che) of AgFeO2 NPs was mediated by sodium borohydride as a reducing agent.

Generally, silver is considered as a noble metal used for treating burn wound infections, open wounds and cuts. However, the emerging nanotechnology has made a remarkable impact by converting metallic silver into silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) for better applications. The advancement in technology has improved the synthesis of NPs using biological method instead of physical and chemical methods.

Recently, the incorporation of metal oxide nanoparticles into polymers has gained great attention owing to their ample of applications. The green mediated synthesis Fe-doped ZnO nanoparticles have been incorporated into PVA nanofibers through electro spinning for the application of photocatalytic degradation. The PVA polymer concentration was optimized to obtain uniform fibers without beads.

Of the various methods explored for the synthesis of nanoparticles, biogenesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) received great attention due to their versatile properties. In this report, Daucus carota extract was used for the synthesis of AgNPs and ceftriaxone was conjugated with AgNPs to enhance their antimicrobial efficacy. The conjugated and unconjugated AgNPs were characterized by adopting UV-Vis spectroscopy, FTIR, AFM, DLS, and TEM, which revealed the SPR peak at 420 nm and spherical shaped nanoparticles of 20 nm size, respectively.

Green synthesis of nanoparticles with low range of toxicity and conjugation to antibiotics has become an attractive area of research for several biomedical applications. Nanoconjugates exhibited notable increase in biological activity compared to free antibiotic molecules. With this perception, we report the biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles using aqueous extract of leaves of Mukia maderaspatana and subsequent conjugation of the silver nanoparticles to antibiotic ceftriaxone.

DNA methylation is critical for gene silencing and is associated with the incidence of many diseases, including cancer. Underlying molecular mechanisms of human diseases and tissue-specific gene expression have been elucidated based on DNA methylation studies. This review highlights the advantages and drawbacks of various methylation screening techniques: blotting, genomic sequencing, bisulfite sequencing, methylation-specific PCR, methylated DNA immunoprecipitation, microarray analysis, matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectroscopy, nanowire transistor detection procedure, quantum dot-based nanoassay, single-molecule real-time detection, fluorimetric assay, electrochemical detection, and atomic force spectroscopy.
