Post-transcriptional modifications (PTMs) are pivotal in the regulation of gene expression, and pseudouridylation is emerging as a critical player. This modification, facilitated by enzymes such as NOB1 (PNO1), is integral to ribosome biogenesis. PNO1, in collaboration with the NIN1/RPN12 binding protein 1 homolog (NOB1), is vital for the maturation of ribosomes, transitioning 20S pre-rRNA into functional 18S rRNA.

Article Synopsis
  • * The dysregulation of miRNAs activates the Ang II/AT1R pathway, which is linked to heart changes and high blood pressure's underlying mechanisms, indicating the critical role of miRNAs in cardiovascular health.
  • * Understanding the interactions between miRNAs, ACE2/Apelin systems, and MAPK signaling pathways could lead to innovative treatments for hypertension, prompting further research into these molecular relationships and potential new therapies.

Objective: To evaluate the protective function of Babao Dan (BBD) on 5-flurouracil (5-FU)-induced intestinal mucositis (IM) and uncover the underlying mechanism.

Methods: A total of 18 male mice were randomly divided into 3 groups by a random number table, including control, 5-FU and 5-FU combined BBD groups, 6 mice in each group. A single intraperitoneal injection of 5-FU (150 mg/kg) was performed in 5-FU and 5-FU combined BBD groups on day 0.
