Introduction: Neurogenic bladder (NB) is a recognized secondary medical impairment following spinal cord injury (SCI). Ultrasound (US) of the kidneys, ureters and bladder (KUB) has been recommended as a useful, non-invasive surveillance method with good diagnostic sensitivity. This study aims to understand US diagnosed NB complications and identify its associated factors.

In this study, Ag₂O was synthesized on polyethylene terephthalate fabrics by using an ultrasonic technique with Ag ion reduction in an aqueous solution. The effects of pH on the microstructure and antibacterial properties of the fabrics were evaluated. X-ray diffraction confirmed the presence of Ag₂O on the fabrics.

Introduction: Extramedullary hematopoiesis (EMH) is the production of blood cell precursors outside the bone marrow that occur in various hematological diseases. In patients with thalassemia intermedia, ineffective erythropoiesis drives compensatory EMH in the liver, pancreas, pleura, spleen, ribs and spine.

Case Presentation: We describe a patient with thalassemia intermedia who presented with acute neurological symptoms caused by paraspinal EMH, which responded well to combination therapy of steroid, hypertransfusion, laminectomy and excision of pseudotumor and hydroxyurea therapy to boost the formation of fetal haemoglobin.

Introduction: Spinal cord injury (SCI) has increased over the years, and so has the survival. Women with SCI remain fertile and have equal chance of pregnancy.

Case Presentation: We described a case of a 29-year-old lady with traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) resultant with paraplegia in 2008, who conceived naturally 2 years after the injury.

Article Synopsis
  • This study aimed to examine how ground reaction forces (GRFs) are altered in stroke survivors who also have diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN).
  • It involved 30 participants divided into groups: 10 stroke survivors with DPN, 10 without DPN, and 10 healthy controls, and used advanced motion analysis for data collection.
  • Findings revealed significant differences in GRFs between the groups, particularly showing that those with DPN experienced altered forces on both sides of the body, suggesting the need for further research into how DPN affects gait and muscle activity in stroke survivors.

We describe a case involving a 57-year-old lady with a chronic diabetic foot ulcer, complicated with overgranulation for the past year. She was administered with various treatments, including hydrocortisone 1% cream and hydrofiber, which proved ineffective and further delayed the healing process of her ulcer.

Introduction: The Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) was developed to establish uniform communication between healthcare providers, patients, and the patients' families. It is also used to prognosticate the outcome of motor function. Based on previous reports, prognostication of ambulation status in cerebral palsy is based on the motor development curve, which shows a plateau at a certain known age.
