Is Carpal Tunnel Release Necessary in High-Energy Distal Fractures of the Radius?

Purpose This study aimed to compare the clinical outcomes of patients who underwent volar plate osteosynthesis for high-energy distal radius fracture (DRFx) and carpal tunnel release (CTR) for acute or subacute carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) with patients who did not undergo CTR. Methods This study is a retrospective evaluation of all high-energy DRFx treated with volar plate osteosynthesis in a regional hospital between January 2021 and January 2023. All adult patients (≥18 years) who underwent open reduction and internal fixation were included in the study after obtaining approval from the internal review board of our institution.

The study evaluated the distributions and prognostic significance of ABO and rhesus (D) groups in male breast cancer (MBC) patients. The data of 137 patients were retrospectively reviewed. Clinical, histopathological data and ABO/Rh blood groups of the patients were recorded.

The present paper describes green immobilization of silver nanoparticles on MnFeO@SiO nanospheres using () without using any other toxic chemicals and reducing or stabilizing agents. The morphology, composition, and magnetic properties of the resulting MnFeO@SiO-Ag core-shell nanocatalyst were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), and attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR). The catalytic performance of the synthesized MnFeO@SiO-Ag was employed on the organic pollutants dyes such as rhodamine B (RhB) and methylene blue (MB).

Efficacy and tolerability of vismodegib treatment in locally advanced and metastatic basal cell carcinoma: Retrospective real-life data.

The real-life efficacy and safety of osimertinib in pretreated advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients with T790M mutation: a Turkish Oncology Group Study.

Introduction: Osimertinib, an irreversible third-generation EGFR-TKI, is the standard of care for second-line treatment of T790M-mutant advanced NSCLC patients whose disease progressed after first-line EGFR-TKI therapy. In this multicenter study, we aimed to determine the real-life efficacy and safety of Osimertinib in pretreated advanced NSCLC patients with T790M mutation.

Materials And Methods: This retrospective trial included advanced T790M-mutant pretreated NSCLC patients who received Osimertinib from 24 different centers in Turkey.

The effect of the platelet-rich plasma and ozone therapy on tendon-to-bone healing in the rabbit rotator cuff repair model.

Background: The aim of this study is to histologically and biomechanically investigate the effects of local PRP and ozone therapy (OO) on tendon-to-bone healing in a rabbit model of the supraspinatus tendon tear.

Methods: Four groups were formed to have seven rabbits in each group: repair, R; repair + PRP, RP; repair + ozone, RO; and repair + PRP + ozone, RPO. The supraspinatus tendon was detached by sharp dissection from the footprint and an acute tear pattern was created.

Trastuzumab ± Capecitabine Maintenance After the First-Line Treatment of HER2-Positive Advanced Gastric Cancer: Retrospective Observational Real-Life Data of Turkish Oncology Group.

Purpose: In the ToGA trial for HER2-positive advanced gastric cancer, cisplatin plus fluoropyrimidine was given for 6 cycles; trastuzumab was given until disease progression. However, there is a lack of real-life data about trastuzumab maintenance after 6 cycle chemotherapy. This study aims to present real-life data of trastuzumab ± capecitabine maintenance after 6 cycles of platinum, fluoropyrimidine, and trastuzumab in non-progressive patients.

Real-life comparison of the afatinib and first-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitors in nonsmall cell lung cancer harboring EGFR exon 19 deletion: a Turk Oncology Group (TOG) study.

Background: The new second-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) have superior survival outcome and worse toxicity profile when compared with first-generation TKIs according to the results of clinical trials. However, there are limited studies that investigate the efficacy and safety of the new generation TKIs in real-world patients. Thus, we aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of the afatinib, an irreversible inhibitor of ErbB family receptor, and first-generation TKIs in real-world patients.

Combination of trastuzumab and taxane-containing intensified chemotherapy in first-line treatment of HER2-positive advanced gastric cancer.

Purpose: Taxane-containing combinations are recommended for the first-line therapy of advanced gastric cancer. Efficacy of regorafenib in the second-and third-line setting for patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma: A real life data of multicenter study from Turkey.

Purpose: After failure of the first-line sorafenib treatment in advanced or metastatic stage hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), regorafenib is one of the newly-approved targeted agents. We aimed to evaluate the efficacy of regorafenib in patients with advanced HCC treated in the second- or third-line setting.

Methods: In this retrospective and multicenter study, advanced HCC patients not eligible for local therapies, who received a second- or third-line regorafenib therapy after progression on the first-line sorafenib or sequential therapy with chemotherapy (CT) followed by sorafenib, were included.

Preparation of a disposable and low-cost electrochemical sensor for propham detection based on over-oxidized poly(thiophene) modified pencil graphite electrode.

In this study, an electrochemical sensor was developed for the determination of propham (PRO) in potato, human urine and river water samples based on the over-oxidized poly(thiophene) modified pencil graphite [PG/p(Thp)-Ox] electrode. Adsorptive stripping differential pulse voltammetry was used as a voltammetric method. The PG/p(Thp)-Ox electrode increased the oxidation peak current of PRO 30 times according to bare PG.

Evaluation of Jeffamine® Core PAMAM Dendrimers for Simultaneous Removal of Divalent Heavy Metal Ions from Aqueous Solutions by Polymer Assisted Ultrafiltration.

Different generations (G3-G4) of amine-terminated Jeffamine® T-403 core poly(amidoamine) PAMAM dendrimers (JCPDs) were used as new macromolecular heavy metal chelating agent templates in polymer assisted ultrafiltration (PAUF) for the investigation of their removal ability for some of the divalent metal ions: Cu, Co, Ni, Cd, and Zn from aqueous solutions under competitive conditions. The effects of pH and generation size of JCPDs were also investigated. Extent of binding (EOB) data can be appropriately expressed by a tetradentate coordination for JCPDs at pH 9 where the maximum removal of metal ions was observed.

Tumor-Induced Myeloid Cells Are Reduced by Gemcitabine-Loaded PAMAM Dendrimers Decorated with Anti-Flt1 Antibody.
